The Adventures of Pop

So, Pop and I took off Friday and headed east.  While there, Pop was able to participate in several important adventures.

First, he took a little train ride on the Thomas Express-

Then he headed over to the farm and did a little work-

In the above picture she was actually saying to me, "Stop taking pictures, Nana."

Then, he helped build a skyscraper to rival the Empire State Building-

Followed by a big hug for a job well done-he's that kind of guy!

And finally,  he traveled to a castle in the far away lands of Candy Land!

Who could ask for more?

This was one of those speedy trips that I have grown to love!  We left early Friday morning and came back Saturday morning.  (And yes, I was playing hooky - and no, I don't feel guilty!)

Check out these 2 pony tails as Maddie calls them!  Cute! Cute! (Her very best "cheese" smile!)

More adventures are sure to come next weekend.  She will be visiting us for a few days!!

6 Months

Almost 3 years ago, we were initiated into the wonderful world of being a grandparent.  We simply did not know that it is the most awesome thing in the world.  People try to tell you how great it is, but there is no way to prepare for the joy and love you feel as a grandparent.  Now we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Baby Number Two this May.  Josh will be finishing nursing school in May also, so it will be a busy month for
them.

6 months down - 3 to go!  It's still unbelievable that our baby girl is old enough to have babies!!

And on another note, when Lindsey was little, I made hairbows in every size and color!! Lots and lots of bows!! So many bows that Lindsey grew to greatly dislike them.......I was so afraid that she wouldn't want Maddie to wear them. However, this is not the case. Maddie has grown to really like them, too. So, Nana is back in the bow making business, and I have loved it!! I made 8 today, and about 12 last week. So easy, so inexpensive and yet so cute!! Hobby Lobby had the cutest ribbon on sale this week, so I stocked up! I also did some appliqued onsies, diaper cover, and shirts for soon to be arriving baby!

Just a sample of the bows-

And on another happy note, Caleb will once again be away
for the weekend, so guess where Pop and Nana are going?
We can't wait!!

Can't Wait

These warm days have me wishing for summer and a little time with my family at the beach.  The best thing is that on our next family trip, we will have a new bundle of joy with us!!  I can't wait!

A couple of memories from last year!

I don't want to wish my life away but---
Hurry Up Summer!!

3 In a Row

We did not get to see them this weekend, but we had been fortunate enough to see Josh, Lindsey and Maddie for the 3 previous weekends in a row.  One was planned, but the other two visits were not.  We made a quick trip Sunday.  We really didn't do anything special, but it was great to see them.  Caleb was away for the weekend, so it was nice to be able to spend time with Lindsey and Maddie. (Josh was working.)

A little fun in the sandbox with Pop

When the tongue comes out, you know it's serious business.

Mom joins in the fun!

This is the "What do you mean it's freezing out here and I need to go in?" look!

This means-If I turn my back maybe they will leave me alone and let me play in peace!

We missed them like crazy this weekend, and we can't wait until we can get together again!

Sharing the Love

Our church , Aliceville First United Methodist, celebrated Valentine's with a wonderful meal and a great time of fellowship. It is wonderful to get together with such special people.  And it was also awesome to walk in and sit down to a great meal and not have to do any of the work!  The night was capped of by wonderful singing from the McCool Family.  I told Reed that I really wish that our family had just a little of their talent.  It was a very special treat.

There's something special about mama's and their boys....

God truly blessed this wonderful family with lots of talent!

Allison was our photographer for the night, so I didn't have one single picture of her.  But, I looked back through mine and came up with this one.  Thanks for the great pictures!! Also, thanks to Brenda Coshatt and her committee for a special night.

Not So Ordinary Day

I recently arrived at school to begin what I thought would be an ordinary day.  Around 7:30, our sweet SIL Josh called to say he did not know many details yet, but Lindsey had been in a car accident on the way to school.  Those meetings and plans for the day that had once seemed so important suddenly flew out the window.  Reed and I were headed east in about 15 minutes.  Without going into too many details, Lindsey was very blessed to receive only a concussion and several bumps and bruises.  The baby faired very well also.  While having an ultrasound in the ER, she was sucking her thumb and lifting her legs in the air.  God is good!  We felt the best thing we could do was bring Maddie home for a few days while Lindsey recuperated with Josh as her nurse.  It really seemed wrong to be having such a good time with Maddie while Lindsey was having such a hard time!

Our walks are a little different now.  She pushes the stroller, or I should say runs with it!

She loves going down the hill on her new "bike"!

As I've said before, Kitty loves Maddie and Maddie loves Kitty!  He never left her side during about an 1 1/2 hour nap.

And after naptime, Kitty was ready to listen as Uncle C read Maddie and him a story!

I think she's telling him that Kitty wants to hear the story again!

The Greatest Show on Earth

There's nothing better than elephants, lions, clowns, cotton candy, and light up toys!  Well, the only thing better would be seeing these things through the eyes of your grandchild.  She was a trooper and had a ball!  It was also great to spend the afternoon with her mom and dad!

Taking a ride on Pop's shoulder's while waiting on Lindsey and Josh.

This was the perfect spot to watch the elephants come in and out as we waited.

Once we get in for the preshow, she gets to see everything from her Dad's shoulders!

Our very own personal clown!

Popcorn!

My pictures of the actual circus were a blurry mess, so I only have a few to share.

What a fun adventure!
