Princess Sweet Bird

Lillian's teacher, Miss Glenda, told us that Lillian was her loudest singer during practice.  I am sad to say that she decided that singing during practice was enough for her!  Even though she didn't sing a note during the Thanksgiving program, we enjoyed every second of it!

Things were looking really promising when she first walked into the church!  She was all smiles!

And then she noticed that the congregation was full!  And it was all over!  Let me tell you, Nana wanted to shed some tears, too!  I hated seeing her so miserable!

But soon the program was over, and she was all smiles at the Thanksgiving feast featuring chicken nuggets and creamed potatoes!!

Big sister helped her feel better, too!

Hugs for Pop and baby brother!

And Mom, too!

We think Princess Sweet Bird is just a little doll!

Quite the cute little family!

I predict she will sing to the top of her lungs next year!  If not, that's ok, too!

Thanksgiving 2015

There's nothing more special than family gatherings and Thanksgiving is certainly one of our favorites.  We have so very much to be thankful for, and family is definitely on the top of the list.

I am thankful for this bunch not just on Thanksgiving but every day!!

These sweeties are ready for all the cousins to arrive, so the fun can begin!

Sometimes our photos don't go quite as planned!!

Frying the turkeys started quite early! Pop had some super special help this year!

Four generations of turkey cookers!

Pop and the little ones!

 Lee and his pretty girls!

Reed was helping Pop with his nap!

As usual, the day ended with a quite serious ballgame!  Maddie enjoyed watching every play!

Thanksgiving 2015 was quite the success!!  Next up, Princess Sweet Bird!

Enemy Territory

Lillian's preschool had their annual Alabama& Auburn pep rally this week, and my sweet girl was greatly outnumbered!! I told her that just means you have to yell Roll Tide just a little louder!!

I'm afraid we're going to have to talk to someone about those blue and orange shakers.

Wearing that red and white with pride!!!

Roll Tide!!!

Champs

Maddie and Lindsey have been busy with cheerleading for over 3 months now.  They have practiced every Tuesday and Thursday night, and cheered every Saturday morning since the end of August.  Lots and lots of work and lots and lots of fun finally paid off today!  They competed in a cheer competition and won first place!!!!  You never know how these things are going to turn out, but I can honestly say that the girls could not have done any better!  They nailed the chant, cheer and dance!!  I also have to say that all the years of gymnastics lessons and years of cheerleading paid off for Coach Lindsey!!  She did an awesome job coaching this group!

Lots of pictures in this post!!

Pre-game fun!!  Coach Lindsey and Maddie are ready to get started!

She has grown about 4 inches since the start of this season, as evidenced by that skirt!!

A little brother-sister loving during the game!

This one will soon be out there and trust me she's ready!  She already knows all the cheers!!

Nana actually held this sweet thing until he went to sleep, but he's just a tad bit heavy!!  So, I handed him rather reluctantly over to Pop!!

Practicing on the sidelines before the competition starts!

And then it's time to take the field!

Dance!

This dance ended with an awesome horseshoe formation!  Cute!!!!

Showing spirit!

They nailed the cheer and chant!!

Jump off!  She didn't place this year, but give her time!  She's a natural!

On the field, waiting on the results!

First the bronze winners were announced, followed by the silver medal winners!  We were holding our breath until finally- THEY DID IT!!  First place!!!!

Best seven/eight year old squad around!  Especially since most of them are six!

Isn't she a doll???

Great job!!

This is Maddie's special friend Marley.  Her mom is Lindsey's assistant coach.  She was not able to be there today, because she is in UAB.  Lots of prayers for her!!

Daddy's girls!!

It's definitely a family thing!  Love you guys!

So glad they won, and so glad this season is over!!!!
Way to Go Girls!
