Up on the Roof

I'm not sure why I keep finding my grandbabies on the roof.  Maddie couldn't understand why Nana wouldn't venture up there.  I assured her it was just never, ever going to happen.  I think Reed is screaming because Pop hadn't made it up there yet.  He was bringing the blower to blow off the roof.  Again, I'm not sure why they love going up on the roof, but they do!!  These pictures are awful because I was looking straight into the sun, but I thought we needed to document this!  I didn't stick around to watch them come down!  I didn't think my heart could take it!

Waving to the scared Nana down below!

Just hanging out!

I am happy to say that they all made it down safely.

Go Generals!

We started a new season of cheerleading this weekend. Lindsey is coaching again, and we know we are going to make lots and lots of new memories!  I am certain that there have been hotter days, but I promise I just don't remember one!  It was smoldering!  Luckily, it was the Jamboree, so the game was short!  Josh was on call, and Pop and Reed stayed home to get in a little tractor time!  Lillian and I held down the bleachers, and helped cheer on the Generals!

Sweet girls before the game!

Go Generals!

Great Game Guys!

Lindsey and Maddie will miss the next game.  The family minus Reed are heading to Disney World. He's heading to Nana and Pop's house, and we can't wait!!

Gymnastics and Tractors

When Lindsey was growing up, she really never played with toys.  Like never.  She just didn't have time, because she was ALWAYS doing either gymnastics or cheerleading in the den floor.  Like always!!  We redid the floors throughout much of the house recently.  We made the decision to put carpet back down in the downstairs den, primarily because of our grandbabies.  These pictures pretty much sum up why I think this was a good idea!!  Both girls spend lots and lots of time on the floor! Reed does, too!  But, he's lining up his trucks, cars and tractors!

If there is anyone, anywhere that has a sweeter smile than this one, I've never met them.

Working hard!

This one has begun competitive gymnastics, and we just know that's going to be lots and lots of fun!!

If I had a dime for every time her mom did this, and had me count how long she could stay up, I would be super rich!!

And this little fellow is all about some tractors!!  Pop actually rode him on the lawnmower in the dark (sorry neighbors)! He wakes up wanting to ride, and he goes to bed wanting to ride!

More to come!

Waterpark Fun

Lindsey, Taylor, Maddie, Lillian and I had a "girls day" at Geyser Falls a few weeks ago.  Maddie enjoyed it so much that she wanted us all to go back.  So, that is what we did.  We were able to get everything in just before a storm hit! We promised her we would come back next year, and we can't wait!!

All smiles before we head in for lots of fun!!

Uncle C and Maddie tackled the backsplash as soon as we arrived!

Fun on the lazy river!

Snack time!

 Fun at the beach area!

This little one had too much fun!!  He actually fell asleep at Creaky Leaky!

This was one of our last hoorahs for the summer! It is amazing how fast it has gone by this year!

First Flight

For some time now, Reed has wanted to get a drone primarily for his real estate business.  He finally bit the bullet and did just that.  It remained in the box for several days, while he watched all the training videos he could, even though he had already watched them before he bought it.  Finally, we ventured down to the hayfield, and he took it for its first flight.  This thing is going to be fun!!!!

Getting it ready to go!

At first, he kept it close and practiced going up and down and only venturing out for short distances.

And then he let it fly!

This slough has always been one of my favorite places from the ground, but it's just as beautiful from the air.

He has already flown over a few of the properties he has listed.  I think this is going to be lots and lots of fun!!

Summer Fun

This post could best be described as an IPhone dump!  I was going through my phone and Pop's and there were quite a few photos I wanted to share.  School is back in full swing, and even though I am semi-retired, the last couple of weeks have been super busy!  I keep reminding myself how much I love this new job, and I do! I think I just need one more long weekend of beach therapy to get back in the swing of things! Excuse the quality of the photos!

We enjoyed celebrating Uncle Clyde's 90th birthday with him! As evident by the hairdos , it was just a little hot!

Reed almost joined the band!

Jean has the biggest fig tree in America!  I was able to put up several jars of fig preserves thanks to her and her tree!

This sweet girl started second grade! So very hard to believe!  She's busy with cheerleading and gymnastics now!

This sweet soul is also enjoying gymnastics!

Terrible quality-but, no fear as she dives into the pit!

This one is always smiling!

And he loves some cars, trucks and tractors!!

Who needs a pool when you've got a water hose???  I'm not sure where Maddie was when this was going on!

Lots of great memories have been made this summer!  Hard to believe it's almost over!

New Year

One of my former principals told me that retirement didn't really begin until the school buses began rolling for a new year.  I am happy to say that those buses have rolled two years now without me!!  I love my new part time job, but I so miss these sweet ladies and quite a few more that I worked with for so long.  We have made so many memories, and have formed bonds that will last forever!!

The only one in this bunch left at AES is Phyllis.  I'm just not sure she's going to make it without us!!

Rebecca and Jessica are expecting new bundles of joy soon!  We loved celebrating them!

I am very thankful God placed each of these special ladies in my life.

Different towns and different schools don't change the friendships I share with each of these sweet ladies.  Very thankful for each of them!
