This Thing Called Soccer

Well, Maddie threw us for a loop this year.  She decided to forgo softball for soccer.  I absolutely have no problem whatsoever with that.  The problem is that I know absolutely nothing about soccer.  I am a firm believer in the power of google though, so I have been checking it out.  Supposedly, it's the most popular sport in the world. It is known as football in most parts of the world, which cracks me up.  The rest of the world obviously doesn't know about the Crimson Tide! She had her first real game the other night.  I mostly learned that I still have lots and lots to learn about this sport.  I thoroughly enjoyed every second, but to be honest it looked a lot like organized chaos.  Or maybe, ants rushing to be first at a picnic!!

The little ones were once again content and happy!  Toys, snacks and a little pile of sand go a really long way! It had been beautiful and sunny all day, but right before game time, it was suddenly freezing!

She began the game (or is it called a match) as goalie. I know that means that she is the only one that can use her hands, and she's not suppose to let the ball go by her!  This fellow is also a second grader at her school.  They are on opposing teams, but I think they are buddies!

You have to stay ready and alert!!

Every so often, she got to do some sort of kick.  Not sure why or what!  I'm working on that one!

The second half she changed positions.  I think I heard Josh say wing.

I do know that this sport has lots and lots of running!

And every now and then, it really does resemble football!

Have I mentioned that her sweet dad is a huge soccer fan??  On the outside, he's been really laid back about her playing soccer. I just know he's smiling really big on the inside though!!

 Keeping everyone happy!

I also must mention that even though I don't understand this sport, Maddie is loving it!!  And that is all that really matters!  We will be there cheering her on and doing our best to figure things out!!

Fishing

Late one afternoon, Reed asked if I'd like to ride down while he fished a little bit.  It was a beautiful afternoon to be outside. This is something we don't do nearly enough!  I just love this time of year!

While he was concentrating hard on fishing, I was concentrating on the beautiful sky and keeping Beau from jumping in the water!

It didn't take long!

Good job!

Beau was impressed!  It's amazing how much we love this bad little fur ball already!

Such a pretty afternoon!

Put me in coach!!

The perfect end to a beautiful day!!

Three Little Monkeys

It was just bitterly cold when the grandbabies were here for their Spring Break.  We spent most of the time hanging out at the house.  We did venture to Monkey Joes for a morning of fun.  We have been before, but Reed wasn't too sure of it the last time.  This time, he had a ball!  He did everything the girls did, and loved it!!

This sweet girl knows no fear!!  The higher and faster the better!  She is growing up so fast!  It's hard to believe that she is almost 8!!

Cutest Leprechauns ever!!

Love these three to the moon and back!

So much fun!!

Cute as a button!!  I'm convinced these smiles could bring about world peace!

It's the little memories that will last a lifetime!  There is nothing I enjoy more than making memories with these three!!

Egg Hunt

We had our first egg hunt about a month before Easter.  It was so cold and yucky that we actually had a couple of hunts inside.  Luckily, it warmed up ever so slightly and Aunt Taylor and Uncle C came and hid the eggs a couple of times for these cuties!  As long as they have skittles in them, all is well!!

Dividing the eggs and plotting strategy!

Waiting somewhat patiently!!

Our Super hider!

And his trusty sidekick!

And they are off!!

Maddie had a rule that she had to stop after she found 10 eggs to let the little ones catch up.  This one caught on quickly and found quite a few!

She is an egg finding pro!!

Beau was a super helper!!

Lillian got a little help from Uncle C.

Aunt Taylor was also a great helper!  Those last couple of eggs are always hard to find!

What a crew!!! So much fun!

Sandpile

For some reason, (and I honestly can't remember why), Maddie didn't join us on the adventure to the sandpiles.  It was Beau's first trip, and I think he enjoyed it more than the kids. This is always one of the most enjoyable things for the kids to do!  Please ignore the semi-blurry IPhone pics.

The higher the better! This sweet girl amazes me!  There was a time when I didn't think she'd be as adventurous as her sister, but she is steadily proving me wrong!!

Boys will be boys!!  These two had a blast! What's better than playing in the sand?

Slip, sliding away!

It is amazing how much we have already grown to love this little guy!!

Taking a little break.......

Before they head down again!!

Everybody needs sandpiles to play on!
