Fun Fall Day

The weather is suppose to turn cold and dreary, but this day (Friday) was picture perfect.  Luckily, the grandbabies were here to enjoy it with us! I've said many times that there is nothing more fun than playing in the sandpiles, and I think these pictures show that. There's also no dirty quite like sandpile dirty! Making memories to last forever!

They would jump awhile, and then we would stop them for a little photo shoot!

One, two, three-jump!!

Almost to China! Please don't tell Beau that he's a dog!  He would be devastated! And as Reed is demonstrating, the longer you jump, the less clothes you have on!

Maddie and Beau were our chauffers to the sandpile!

Earlier in the day, Reed got a much needed haircut!

And another early morning photo shoot!

It was a really good day!!

Gymnastics Meets

We are knee deep into competition season.  This girl is keeping us busy!  We stayed at the beach for the Mobile meet.  This weekend, we journeyed to Mountain Brook for her meet. Uncle C and Aunt Taylor were able to join us for this meet. It's so much fun watching her do something she loves so much!  Pop and I are her biggest fans!  Although it makes me very nervous, the beam is her favorite and strongest event!  One of the problems of waiting a week to do a blog is that you forget exactly what happened! So, I sadly don't remember exactly where she placed in the Mobile meet. Also, taking pictures in a gym is always challenging, so forgive the quality!!

Just a few from Mobile-warming up

Reed (and Lillian) are quite the troopers at these meets, but sometimes you just have to sneak in a little nap!

Bars

Beam

Floor

And vault-It's always hard to get good pictures of the vault.  It's always on the far side of the gym.

Sweet friends!

Mountain Brook-She finished 2nd overall in this meet.  She was 1st in Beam, 2nd in floor and tied for first in bars.

Warming up

They are little, but they are mighty, and so much fun to watch!!

Starting off on the floor........

Beam-This one is a little fuzzy, but look at that strength and those lines!!  Love to watch her on the beam!

Another one of my very favorite things is that she is going to turn to the camera when she gets an award!  It just makes my day!!

Her sweet friend Caralina after the meet.  Caralina was first in her division today! They were enjoying their victory cookie!

Nana and Gigi with their girls!

Family time!  So glad Uncle C and Aunt Tay got to join us! Love this bunch!!

Celebrating with a game of checkers at Cracker Barrel after the meet!

We actually have a couple of weeks off before our next meet.  However, she made All Stars in soccer, so we'll be headed back east for that soon! We also have a Fall Festival for Reed this week.

Ferry Ride

I have wanted to ride the ferry from Fort Morgan to Dauphin Island forever!  I am happy to say, we did just that on this trip.  It was actually quicker to get to the gymnastics meet than driving around by car.

Guess who was first in line??

Fun in the car, until time to drive on the ferry!

Hanging out the sun roof!

These guys hung out on the top deck.  I tried, but there was way too much movement for me!  I ventured back down to my car, and enjoyed the view from my car! And, it may have been just a little windy!

Awesome views!

Up close and personal!

Arriving at the fort in Dauphin Island!

I plan on doing this again!

A Day at the Beach

One of the perks of Maddie's competitive gymnastics is long weekends at some really fun places.  Her meet last week was in Mobile, so I stayed in Gulf Shores with the babies, and Lindsey and Josh stayed in Fort Morgan.  Let me explain this, Pop and I had planned to take the camper for the little ones, but Papa has been sick, so Pop couldn't make the trip.  We then went to plan B, and I got a hotel room.  We had an awesome trip!  It was hard to believe it was the middle of October.  The first day we stayed at the beach in Fort Morgan, but these pictures are from our day at Orange Beach.  It was simply a perfect day!  Mid-eighties, light breeze, crystal clear water and three precious ones and their parents! We heard rumors of a Shrimp Festival, but we didn't venture there!

There are no words!!  Loves these little ones so very, very much!

Gymnastics on the beach was a big hit!  She is so much like her mom was when Lindsey was little!  She is the happiest when she is on her head or upside down!

Just chilling!
And back to gymnastics!!

And then back to playing!  I love how they love each other!
Cheese!!
This one is going to be quite the gymnast, too!

I'm telling you-it never ends!!!
Josh and Maddie built a bridge that held water in this pond.  It provided hours of fun for these kiddos.

There's little chance of Reed going under with those rings!

Love this little dancer!

I'm already to go back!

Next up, a ferry ride and a little gymnastics!
