6 Bits a Dollar

I made another quick trip to see the babies.  They are growing and changing so.  I love my special times with them more than I can say.  We traveled to Reeltown to watch Maddie cheer.  We went in two cars because Josh was on call.  The girls rode with me there, but after the game and eating lunch, they got in the car with Lindsey and Josh, so I could head home.  Over the last 6 years, I have learned more about east Alabama than I would have ever dreamed possible.  However, I obviously have not learned enough.  When I got to 280, I turned toward Auburn rather than Alex City.  And even worse, I didn't realize it until I was 6 miles from Auburn.  I think I went about 60 miles out of the way by the time I made it back!!!  My sweet family got quite a kick out of that one.

A little early morning fun with Reed and Josh before leaving for the game

This little mess is growing up so fast!!  That sweet smile gets her out of lots of jams!!

She has lots of fun at the games!

Half time performance

Let's go Generals!!

Best buddies

Maddie and Mary Grace decided to teach Reed a few cheers.  Bless him!!!

The Squad-they are quite good!!

Go Generals!

Fun, Food and Football

Life has been quite busy and hectic here lately, and blogging has taken a backseat to life in general.  My goal is to slow down and focus more on my precious family.  With that being said, I am headed east this weekend to do some serious snuggling!!

I know I am slightly partial, but I think this is the cutest thing I have ever seen!!  I would give anything to know what he's thinking!!

We had a wonderful visit Saturday with some very special people.  After a morning of fishing, we settled in and enjoyed a great meal and an even better ballgame!

I am also looking forward to enjoying this great fall weather!
Have a great week!

Four Bits

I am really enjoying this youth football experience.  However, my sweet daughter has warned me that I must keep all comments about coaches, fans and players to myself. Whispering is not even allowed!!!  I am working on that……..

This was an awesome game that Maddie's team won in overtime, so the girls had lots to cheer about!!

She's a natural!!

The visitor's bleachers weren't quite as accommodating as the home stands, but Lillian managed quite nicely.

Reed on the other hand was simply not impressed!  He decided it was a great time to snooze!!

I will miss her next game, but hope to make it the the following one.  I promise to be as quiet as possible the entire time!!  I'll let you know how that goes!!

And He Smiles

The past several days have been a whirlwind for our family, so it was a wonderful treat to spend a little time with our sweet babies. I left UAB and headed east.  Pop was able to come up and join us, too.  Maddie is busy with cheering and kindergarten.  Lillian is busy being her cute little self, and Reed is growing like a weed.

Pop may have been holding him, but he was smiling at his Nana!! I got lots of coos, lots of smiles, and even a few laughs.  Those smiles and blue eyes could lead to world peace one day!!  He's a doll!

Lillian loves him lots, too!!

It seems that there are some silly state laws about children not missing school, so Maddie wasn't able to be with us for the day.  So, we promised her a special outing when she got home.  We took her to Dollar Tree and she  picked out any 5 things she wanted!  I think she actually ended up with 7 special treasures- a spider, a wand, necklaces, a watergun, a baton, suckers, and a mask.  Pop also threw in some silly string!! You would have thought she won a million dollar jackpot!!!

Pop got the bad end of the silly string!!

Maddie put on a mini cheerleading and twirling show!!

Don't let the smile fool you-Little Bit was not a fan of silly string!

Love these little blessings more than I could ever say.  They can make any day just a little brighter!!

Two Bits

Talk about Deja-Vu!  Watching Maddie cheer brings back lots and lots of memories.  Maddie's school colors are even the same as her mom's were.  (They just use more red than Columbia blue.)  Supposedly there was a ballgame going on behind her, but I didn't catch much of that.  I did notice at the end of the game that the score was 30-0- for the other team.  Oh well, we had lots and lots of fun, and this Nana can't wait to go back!!!!

Ready-OK!!

Every now and then, I snap a picture that I think will be perfect to show when they turn 16 or so.  I think this one qualifies!!  I love it!!  Total concentration!!

These girls practice for 2 hours 2 days a week.  Whew!! It's all worth it when you get to perform on the field at halftime.

I am pretty sure Reed is realizing that he will be spending many hours of his life at events watching his two sisters.  However, it won't be long until he is running up and down the field, too!!

He's ready!!

I can't imagine anything cuter than this sweet thing!!  She loves doing everything her big sister does!!

Fun with Mom and Dad!!  These two have their hands full!!  Did I mention that this game overlapped the Alabama game?  We're going to have to talk to someone about scheduling!!

Daddy's Girl!

It won't be long until this one is out there, too.  Trust me, she's ready!!

I can't wait until next weeks game!! I won't be able to make all of them, but I am going to try to make as many as possible.

Perfection

Reed and I enjoyed 30 hours of  paradise this past weekend.  It was short, sweet, and wonderful all wrapped into one!!  We set the alarm for 3:00 Sunday morning, and it didn't go off!!  We woke up in a mad rush at 4:50 a.m. and were out the door by 5:00.  We were on the beach by 9:30!!

My goals for this trip were simple-get my toes in the sand and eat some great seafood!!  Mission accomplished!!

It looks beautiful, but those red flags are meant to be taken seriously.  It is my sincere prayer that there are no pictures of this event, but Reed and I ventured out about 25 feet.  We were met with three waves in rapid succession that sent us rolling - As in lost bathing suits, lost pair of costa's, and body parts exposed!  OMG!!  A nice man on the shore rescued my visor and Reed's hat!  The good Lord only knows just what he saw!  I asked Reed why he didn't help me get up.  He laughed and said he was just trying to keep his trunks from going over his ankles!!  We stayed very close to the shore after this!!

After a great meal, we headed back until it was completely dark!

Day 2 was just as beautiful!!  Reed managed to find the only shade on the beach!!

He was a happy camper!!  Rest assured, I did not stay under the umbrella or the tree!

We are going back in a few weeks with the kids and grandbabies!  We can't wait!!

The Big Girl

We had planned to go to the beach by way of Alexander City, so we could spend a little time with the babies.  And then the unthinkable happened-Maddie got the stomach virus!!  So, instead of sharing pictures from our visit, I thought I'd share a few that Lindsey has sent us recently!!

Kindergarten is getting the best of our big girl!!  She is snoozing away on her way home from school!

Man does this bring back memories!!  She is loving cheering!!

Maddie's first day of kindergarten!  Time is just flying by!!!

Little Bit and Reed and doing great, too!!

We are hoping that Reed got the height gene from his daddy, but right now he is in the 20th percentile!!

Go away stomach virus!!
