The Boys

Lindsey and the girls were at Motion this weekend, so Reed came to hang out with us. I love these one on one visits!  Josh met us in Clanton Saturday morning, and he headed home.  I'm not sure when our next visit will be.  Fall sports will be beginning soon, and we will be hitting the road. Lots of memories to be made.

Pop and Uncle C put him to work shortly after he arrived.  Reed got to put out 95 flags in memory of the man that started this tradition, and did it by himself for many, many years. He recently died at the age of 95.

Belle kept him company after a long, hot day.

The little ones joined us the next day.  We enjoyed a stop at Krispy Kreme and then headed to Chuck E. Cheese.  What a day!  We ended the day with several hours in the yard and pool.

There is no fun quite like Chuck E. Cheese fun, and that's all I have to say about that! :)

The little ones are spending the week with us (during the day).  They can always find new adventures to try!

Did I mention that clothes are optional at Nana's?

More to come!

Catching Up

Summer is just flying by.  The kids will all be back in school soon, and I am going to greatly miss our adventures.  There is nothing I enjoy more. This fall we will be hitting the roads again.  We have one playing each of the following-travel softball, soccer, cross country and baseball.  Whew!  They keep us busy.

Reed and I enjoyed a day together while the girls were at a 4-H event.  Beautiful spot for a little fishing.

We got up close and personal with this little guy.

She made the best brownies ever! Totally from scratch!

The big kids and I enjoyed a trip to Geyser Falls.  I don't have many pictures, but fun was had by all! The boys and I will be heading back to Fayette for one last water park adventure next week.

Dipping Dots for the win!

Lots of swimming fun with these cuties!

We chose not to add a diving board to this pool, and JS hasn't been too happy about that.  This rock has been on the property for about 30 years or so.  Reed and I (mostly Reed) got the tractor, and we eased it into place. You wouldn't believe how heavy it is .  Now, we have a "jumping rock".

We are going to make the most of these last days of summer.

Family

What a special weekend!  We hosted my family for a late 4th of July celebration. (We have partied all week). We are scattered near and far, so we don't get together nearly as often as we'd like.  However, it's special when we do. Doris (my sweet aunt) just told me that her grandchildren told her their favorite part was spending time with all the cousins.  I totally agree. My fondest memories of growing up are with Bob and Anne, so I get it.  We enjoyed great food, wonderful conversation, and just being together. Please know that if you weren't here, you were greatly missed.

Reed got out the drone for this picture.  It's far from perfect, but I couldn't love it more.  I'm pretty sure Harry and Edith Spidle would be pretty proud of us.

Lots of smiles!

All the way from Texas!

My three favorite sisters!

The twins and my favorite uncles-Michael and Gerald

Reed suggested getting a water slide, and trust me it was a great idea!

About midafternoon, we literally had a flooding rain.  However, that just provided more fun!

The people are gone, but the memories will last forever. (And I just really like these drone shots). :)

Christmas can't get here fast enough!

What a Week!

What a week with lots of activities!  The little ones and I enjoyed a fun pool day.  We kicked off the 4th celebrations with a cookout at Tim and Marnetta's house.  We had a wonderful time!  Reed and the rest of our bunch (except for Taylor who had to work) enjoyed the next day at the river, too.  We had a wonderful 4th here with Taylor's family, and we also celebrated Caleb's 34th birthday.  I'm just not sure how it's possible that he's that old!  The next day, I loaded all 5 grandbabies up, and we headed to the Fayette water park and had a blast.  John Sawyer swims like a fish, so even though he is still a foot too short, he passed the swim test and was able to go down the big slides, and had a ball! I am happy to say that the fun is still not over.  We are hosting my family here this weekend, and I just can't wait! Lots of pictures follow!

Searching for tadpoles and frogs.  We have hundreds-literally.

A late Father's Day gift-

We all had a wonderful time at Tim and Marnetta's.  It is such a beautiful place.  It was even better to see people we don't get to see often.

Solving all the world's problems.

Sweet boys

Two of my faves!

Always daddy's girl.

So much fun!

Love my babies!

Happy Fourth!

Off to the water park! Jack had lots of fun and still managed to sneak in a 2 hour nap at the park!

Celebrated Uncle C again on his actual birthday.

And today we had a "chill" day at home.

What a busy, but fun week we have had. I simply can't wait until we get to celebrate with my family this weekend.  More on that to come.
