Boys and Dogs

Reed is spending a few days with us, and we have been doing some really important things.  Things like visiting with Papa, playing with Beau, conquering the hill on the big wheel, playing with John Sawyer, helping Pop work(his favorite) and more!! We love having all of the grandbabies more than we can ever say, but there's something special about having them one at a time!

Beau (who I love way more than anyone should love a dog) can at times be a royal pain, but he is awesome with Reed.  He loves finding a stick and running as fast as he can around the yard!  While Beau doesn't have to have anyone to play with while doing this, he is thrilled when Reed chases him!  They both had a ball!

Reed was actually able to get the stick three times!!

He really is a good dog! They'd both rest a bit and then take off again!

Taking apples to the horses is always fun!

Playing with John Sawyer is the very best!!

Oh the hill!  I can't possibly count the times Lindsey, Caleb and now the grandkids have gone down this hill on a big wheel.  It's definitely one of the benefits of living on a dead end street!!  Hours and hours of thrilling rides have taken place here!!

And Ranger rides are pretty fun, too!

Helping Pop is truly is favorite thing to do!

Did we mention that Papa has a new dog?  Someone put this precious (truly) puppy out. on the side of the road.  After a trip to the vet, she is healthy and happy in her new home!  Here she is helping Reed feed Papa's goldfish.

 More adventures to come!

A Birthday and a Ballgame

The month of September is flying by! We have been super busy both at home and work.  I love my job, but this time of the year doesn't leave a whole lot of free time. Still we have managed to spend as much time as possible with the babies.  Reed is actually here now for a few days, so we are looking forward to lots of fun with him.

Pop recently celebrated his special day!  Uncle C made this cute cookie cake!  Maddie, Lillian and Reed gave him a bag full of goodies they picked out themselves.

And this angel cheered in her first game!  She loves everything about it, too! Lillian reminds me so very, very much of her mom!

This was actually taken at the end of the game, and she was pretty tired but still trying to smile.

And here she is in action!  It was a super hot day, but she never stopped.  I just love watching her do something that she loves so much.

The gang's all here!

We are looking forward to more gymnastics meets, ballgames, pumpkin patch visits, and fun activities this fall.

Grandparent's Day

I simply can't imagine anything better than being a grandparent.  It is a love like no other!  I was able to join Maddie, Lillian and Reed this morning for Grandparent's Day at their school.  I so enjoy meeting their teachers and seeing their classrooms. They are growing so, so fast!  We have a fourth grader, a first grader, and a prek-not to mention the cutest 6 month old ever!

This princess loves school and couldn't wait to go into her classroom.

This one loves me, but couldn't wait for me to drop her off and leave!!  She's growing into such a special young lady!

This little one keeps us on our toes!! He has adjusted quite well to big school!

This one didn't have a Grandparent's Program, but we certainly can't leave him out! I'm not holding John Sawyer here, but this sweet smile was directed at me!

And how cute is this!

I wouldn't trade being a grandparent for anything!!

Disney Magic

There is a place where castle spires gleam in the night sky. Where fantasy is real and wishes come true; Where every day ends happily ever after. There is a place where magic lives-Walt Disney World

What a fun trip we had!  It didn't hurt that Lindsey is the most organized person in America, and had every detail planned.  It was pretty awesome to just fall in line and go with the flow!  Fast passes, character meals, shows, photo ops with princesses and characters, light shows and rides galore made each day special! I really wasn't overly excited about the trip...........Josh told me to just wait until I experienced it through the eyes of our grandchildren.  He was right-I loved seeing their sweet smiles and happy faces.  We were up early each day, and the adventures continued until well after dark. Never once did they complain! And I must had that I had an awesome time, and once I recover from the fifty plus miles we walked, I think I might even look forward to going again!  Lots and lots of pictures (not necessarily in order) in this post, because we made lots and lots of memories!

We began this adventure at Disney Springs.

The face of pure happines!

We saw tons of characters!

I loved the meals with characters.  We did one each day. I think it's very safe to say that Reed's favorite by far was Jake!

Dining with the princesses

And who doesn't love Winnie the Poo, Tigger and Eyore!?

So much fun!

Stroller rides, Mickey Mouse, sleeping with your sword, and more made this such a special trip!
Animal Kingdom

Epcot

Second day at Magic Kingdom
Face painting, tea cups, stroller naps, lots of snacks and playing in the rain!  Something for everyone!

Reed and Lillian were chosen as characters for Storytime with Belle.  Reed was chosen to be the Beast!  His role called for him to give a big roar!

Smiling faces and hands held high!!  I do not like roller coasters or heights!  But, Maddie managed to talk me into riding two roller coasters and Splash Mountain! There's not another person on the planet that could talk me into that!!

That castle simply makes me smile! It must be that Disney magic-or it could be these sweeties!
Princesses everywhere you looked!

Maddie, Josh and Lindsey were riding some of the bigger rides, and we got to spend some extra time with these cuties!
I think this is a good time to add that we really had an awesome time together.  We asked Josh and Lindsey how we did toward the end of the trip.  I think they were pleasantly surprised!

Dinner with Cinderella, Prince Charming, the wicked stepmother and stepsisters was so much fun!  I liked the wicked stepmother way too much!  She kept you on your toes!
And we wrapped up the trip with a special brunch with Chef Mickey and all his friends!  Perfect way to end a perfect trip! (Reed fell out of his chair, and Donald is checking on him.)
What's more perfect than having Mickey himself autograph your hat!?

Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Disney Springs and much more!  What a great week! I can honestly say that I loved it all.  Those sweet smiles made it a very special adventure.   Look out Disney-we'll be back soon!
