Fun with the Kiddos

Another fun weekend is in the books.  Josh, Lindsey and the kids spent the weekend with us.  The weekend consisted of a couple of turkey hunts, a fishing trip, a crawfish boil, a little swimming and more.  I love these sweet times together.  John Sawyer has been under the weather, but he still managed to join in the fun!

Love our photo from Grandmother's roses that Pop transplanted to our house.

The kiddos love to feed the fish at Papa's. Reed has planted some flowers back there to enjoy this summer.  I think he would approve!

Blurry-but there's no fun like cousin fun!

Josh and the boys!

That looks yummy!!

The gang's all here!

Checking out supper!

Chilling!

There bodies should be the color of that water! It was freezing!

I can't wait until the next visit! I am headed that way Thursday for a couple of days.

Catching Up

We've had a week of storms, no power, soccer, softball and more!  I love our journeys across the state to watch our gang play!  I also love their visits.  They will all be here this weekend for a little turkey hunting, crawfish boil and more!  We love making memories on these visits.

Lillian's game was first.  She had an awesome night!  She's lead off batter, and started the night off with a hit.  Her next at bat was a home run!  I think she played even better in the field with two awesome throw outs from short to first. So far, her team is undefeated.

Cutest little softball player ever! If you look real closely, you can see one of her front teeth holding on by a thread.  It's been that week literally for weeks!!!

Next, we hurried across town to catch this little one playing soccer.  His team won really big, and he scored a goal.  They are quite an adventure to watch.  He loves playing, and I love that he is experiencing it with Josh and Maddie.

We had a little lawn mower accident the other day.  A rock shattered our glass door.  No worries though, John Sawyer happily helped Pop fix it!

Riding the Ranger is definitely among his favorite things to do!

Easter sunrise services across the river with Hebron has become one of our favorite things to do!  It's a beautiful way to start the day on Easter.

And we have all been missing Papa lately.  We know he's in a better place, but he is greatly missed!

Softball and a Birthday

We enjoyed a recent trip to see Lillian play a couple of softball games and to help Maddie celebrate her 10th birthday.  The visit was extra special because Uncle C, Aunt Tay and John Sawyer were able to join us.  Pop and I are actually headed back tomorrow for another softball game and a soccer match. These trips can be slightly tiring, but I am so thankful we can do it.  The smiles make each mile worth it!

Pop doing a little through the fence coaching!  Her little team is undefeated so far.  She is lead off batter and plays either shortstop, second or in the pitcher's circle.

John Sawyer's first game.

The cheering section!

Congratulating Lillian on a great game!

Maddie's birthday supper at her very favorite Mexican restaurant!

Smiling at his cousins!

Feeding Lillian his chips!

Sweet Reed!

Playing Peek a Boo!

Ten

I had heard for many years how wonderful it is being a grandparent.  But it wasn't until Madelyn Grace Smith was born 10 years ago that I realized just how amazing it really is.  Maddie is super smart, inquisitive, nurturing, patient and succeeds at everything she chooses to do. I love that she likes trying new things.  Right now, she's into martial arts and loves it. My grandmother and I had such a special bond, and I am so thankful to be so close to her, and all my grandchildren. There is no greater blessing!

A few recent pictures-

And a few from the past!  I literally could choose from thousands of pictures of her.  I will also admit that I got a little teary eyed going through the pictures. Time really does fly!

Oh my!  She's not the only one that's changed in 10 years!

I feel like we blinked and a decade passed!
Happy Birthday, Sweet Girl!  You are very loved.
