Sweet Summertime

This summer has just flown by a little too fast!  We have packed lots of adventures in, and still have a few more to go.  The big kids were here for a week, and even with all the rain we were able to go to the river a couple of times.  We also had lots of pool time.  They are at the beach for this week.  They will be home for a day, and then head back down with us.

River days will always be my favorite days.  Maddie is skiing on one like a pro now.  Lillian and Reed are learning to ski, but still prefer the knee board or tube.  Jumping off the boat just might be their favorite thing to do though!

Go Lillian!

No hands!

Fun at the sandbar!

Look at her go!

Love this little stinker!

They've ridden many, many miles like this.  Some serious conversations have taken place on the tubes over the years.

Oh, this little one is such a joy and such a stinker!  He keeps us on our toes.  That life jacket has the name Cooley on the back. (Judith gave it to us.) It goes back a long, long time (30 years)!  We have others in much better shape, but none that hold near as many memories! On this day, it was worn during a very fun fishing trip.

This trip was extra special, because Lillian not only went-she also had a ball.  She usually stays home with me, but I think she's hooked now.

So fun!  It won't be long until Jack can join us!

I just love this!

Pool time!

Jack is just not a baby anymore.  He is a moving bundle of joy, and is going to rule the roost!  It won't be long until he will be along on all of our adventures.  We can't wait!

His hair has started laying down now, and it makes me just a little sad.  I just loved this stage.

More to come!

Summer Fun!

No excuses for the long blog delay-life has been extremely busy lately. Did I mention that I agreed to teach summer school?  If I am being honest, I have enjoyed it.  The children are precious, but I am now remembering why I retired.  Summer school is a tired like nothing I have ever experienced.  Hours of non-stop teaching with no breaks has been rewarding, but challenging.  Maddie, Lillian and Reed have been here for a week. During this time, we have been to the river, had lots of pool time, visited the mouse at Chuck E. Cheese, gone to the water park, been fishing with Pop, played with John Sawyer and Jack, and lots more.  They go home tomorrow, and I already miss them.

Way back on the Fourth of July, I decided to bring out my good camera and take lots of pictures.  Imagine my dismay, when I went to look at the pictures later that night and realized I didn't have a card in my camera.  I wanted to cry!  I rounded up a few pictures from others, but sadly don't have many to share.

We celebrated Lillian's great softball season!

Pop took the little boys to visit Uncle Clyde during the Fourth holiday.

Pictures from the Fourth are very slim this year.  But trust me, the food was delicious, the company was awesome and fun was had by all!

The cook!

Fireworks!

Celebrating the birthday boy!

Jack was watching as his daddy drove up from work.

He's quite adventurous!

And a wonderful snuggler!

And loved by all!

Our professional pancake makers!

This was our first time to the Fayette Water Park, but we will definitely be back!

These kiddos are going to miss this slide when we move.  We are building a pool, but don't plan on having a slide.

He's a big kid now!!

Ready, set jump!!

(John Sawyer does jump.  He was just a little behind the others.)

One more adventure that I forgot about-a trip to the trampoline park!

Next up- fishing and a fun river trip.
