Fun Times

I once again find myself catching up!  We are still busy with work, remodeling and such.  We are heading to Lake Martin next weekend with the big grandkids and just can't wait.  Hurricane Sally changed our beach plans, but we know they will have a ball at the Lake.  Lindsey and her family are headed here for the weekend, and we can't wait to see them.

A trip to the sand piles is always fun!

Looks like a serious conversation.

And a little ride on Lillian's old bicycle just can't be beat.  We've got to get this little one a blue bike!

Nana and this one enjoyed a couple of trips to the playground last week.  Believe it or not, I went down the big slide, and he wouldn't!

This little smiling four month old is just precious! He is growing and changing every day.

Lindsey's family enjoyed a little getaway last weekend.  It was a little chilly, but they had a ball.  I can't wait to see if they want to swim here this weekend.

Trying to warm up!! I've missed these three, and can't wait until they arrive.

Fall, Pumpkins and a Birthday!

Summer is just about gone, and I can’t wait for those crisp fall days! We are busy with work, remodeling Papa’s house and more. That remodeling is not for the faint of heart. I’ve heard Reed say we have a two year plan to finish, so slow and steady wins the race.

You can see the trees are just starting to change.  This is so beautiful in the fall.

John Sawyer helped Pop with a little farming. He's working on getting the fields ready for Maddie and Reed.  Lillian will be home baking and doing crafts with me.

This one is growing and changing everyday. He is all smiles and giggles. He has found his feet and is rolling over.

It’s that time of the year. This is only part of my pumpkin stash. I told Lindsey that not getting to go to a real pumpkin patch this year wasn’t as fun as going to the store-but it’s a whole lot cheaper.

I am missing these three big kids like crazy. I had hoped to head that way tomorrow, but the weather has changed those plans.

And this sweet, hardworking man has a birthday tomorrow. Happy Birthday to you!! We celebrated tonight. Lindsey and her family weren’t able to be here, but they joined us by FaceTime to sing Happy Birthday.

John Sawyer enjoyed opening Pop’s presents.

Blurry, but we love these calls.  Happy Birthday to you!

Beach Time and a Little School

Reed and I enjoyed a weekend getaway to the beach to celebrate our wedding anniversary.  I would love to know how many trips we have made to the beach in the past 38 years!  There are many more places we could visit, but the beach is truly our happy place!  One of the kids asked what we did.  The answer was simple-we ate out and sat on the beach! (We also got in a little bit of shopping, although I am not a beach shopper.) There were a few showers, but the beach is still beautiful and relaxing, even in the rain.  I am looking forward to many more trips with my favorite traveling partner!

Cheese!

Those showers contributed to some beautiful sunsets!

A little break from the beach to enjoy some delicious seafood.

A little hazy, but still so pretty.

Flying high!

Reed calls them devil birds, but I think they are the cutest.

We took this from our balcony as we were leaving.  I love seeing reminders of God's promise.

And it's back to school for these guys and their mom.  So far, so good-even with all the "corona rules" in place!

I love these smiling faces so much!

As a member of the Student Council, Maddie was an official door greeter!

And this little one also headed back to school, and is loving it!

All smiles as he headed out for his first day back!

This little one is growing and changing everyday.  He's all giggles and smiles!

That's a wrap for now!
