Thirty Seven

On August 29, 1982, two bright eyed 20 year olds said, "I do." That was thirty seven years ago, which is really hard to believe!  It seems like yesterday.  Just a few random facts-we met in 9th grade during homeroom, and our first date was our Junior Prom.  We married our Senior year in college, which I know I shouldn't recommend, but it really was lots of fun. Two kids, four grand kids, a son and daughter in law, a zillion animals, four moves, and lots of good times have occurred since then. The good times have outweighed the bad 100 to 1, and I really wouldn't go back and change a thing.  We have been blessed with a great marriage, and for that I am forever grateful.  I highly recommend marrying your best friend.

Check out these babies!!

We went to the mountains for our honeymoon, but other than one disastrous youth trip, we haven't been back.  We generally head to the beach.  This year we went the The Grand in Point Clear, which is beautiful.  We made our way over to Gulf Shores a couple of times.  We got one good beach day in before the rain arrived.  That was truly enough for me.

A rainy day at the beach is better than a sunny day anywhere else to me!!

The reenactment with the shooting of a canon is done each day at the Grand.  It's quite impressive.  We were actually able to watch from our room this time.

Beautiful!

I'm looking forward to the next 37!

School and Such

School has just started, and I am already tired.  I love what I do now, but some weeks it means lots of travel. Tomorrow morning I will leave for RC Hatch, Francis Marion and Greensboro High.  I will rush home, and then Reed and I are off for a special little project.  I am truly thankful to have the opportunity to do what I do.  I miss the little ones that are back in school.  Our visits are not near as frequent this time of the year.  I'm ready for soccer season, so I can make those quick trips to see them!

First, we've been reminiscing about our last river trip.  Lillian made us promise we wouldn't go back without her!  Maddie had already gone home, so we let Beau go in her place!

These guys are well settled into school now.  They all report that they are having a great year!

Our second grader and fifth grader.  How is that possible?

Be still my heart!  This cutie is off to kindergarten.  We are praying for a great year!! Wasn't he just born yesterday?

These two are enjoying a little bird watching together.

Reed and Willie cleaned the old hospital lot at the entrance to our neighborhood.  It had become an overgrown mess! Reed loves a good tractor project!

Shortly after that clean up was complete, we were riding by Papa's on the way to town, and a pine tree had just randomly fell across the yard.  It was obviously dead, and somehow we had not noticed it.  We are up there all the time, and had just been there about 30 minutes prior to this!  It was just one of those random, strange things.  Have no fear though-Reed had it cleaned up a short time later.  As he said, "With a good tractor, and a good chainsaw-you can do anything!"

This little cutie didn't help with the clean up, but he did check it out with us!

We got to enjoy some special time with this little one while his mom and dad were at the beach!

And I just completed my 21st Little Lambs sale!!  I love spending the day with my Fraser buddies!  It is quite the adventure! I do love a good bargain!

Have a great week!

School Time

School is back in session, and life here is transitioning to a busier pace.  I haven't decided yet exactly how I feel about that.  I actually visited 3 of my 8 schools last week, and had another meeting at UA.  I'll be on the road again this week, plus I'll throw in a little John Sawyer and Little Lambs sale!  I miss the three big kids like crazy.  We don't have any visits scheduled, and that just makes me miss them more!

We have lots of birds and squirrels at our feeders, and John Sawyer loves watching them.

I'm not sure who the chief driver was here!

Reed was doing awesome on riding his bike before he left. He starts to school this week.  We are praying for a great year for him.

The girls are all settled in and enjoying the year so far!

Have a great week!
