So Long 2021

What a week!  Pop and I enjoyed the week with all 5 grandchildren.  Make no mistake, this is my absolute favorite thing to do, but this Nana is tired!! Everyone was back home today, and it was really quiet here.  This was my favorite kind of visit.  We didn't have anything special planned.  The kids slept late and played hard.  I love how they love each other! We are going to rest up and get ready for the next visit.

I promise John Sawyer was happy.  He was just very opposed to having his picture taken at this particular moment!

Maddie, Jack and I stayed home while the others had a fun time at the sand pile with Pop one afternoon.

Is there anything more fun than the sandpiles and climbing a tree?

Helping Pop check on the fields!

Lillian's building straws provided lots and lots of entertainment.

This tent also provided lots of fun!  Four of the five were inside when I took this!  A couple of times, it even provided a good place for naptime.

This gives me all the feels!

This does, too!

These two are growing up too fast for me!

The oldest and the youngest!

Hanging out!

Checking out the new, but very cold pool!  The installation is complete, but we have lots of yardwork to do around it now!

Meet our new yard man! Cutest thing around!

We ended this trip with a movie outing.  Lindsey and Josh actually met us at the theater and got the big kids.

I can't wait until our next visit!
Happy New Year!

Christmas 2021

The tree is down and the decorations are already boxed up, but the memories will remain forever.  I love sharing this wonderful season with those I love the most.  Experiencing the wonderful Christmas story through the eyes of my grandchildren is something I cherish.  I am thankful for each second we have together. Some of the pictures are a little blurry, and we failed to get a group picture of all of us together.  None of that changes the wonderful holiday we had.

We loved the train ride and lights in Carrollton.  We happened to be right in front of the Grinch when he was arrested for trying to steal Christmas.  I'm not sure John Sawyer will ever recover!!  Carrollton was just beautiful!

Lillian helped me cook breakfast together before we opened presents.

Ho! Ho! Ho!

During our move, I came across MULTPLE shirts from our Dixie Youth days.  My sweet friend Kathy made Reed and Caleb a quilt, and we still have lots left over.  Lots and lots of memories here!

I had already given Lindsey her old shirts, so I had a cutting board with Di's mac and cheese (in Di's handwriting) made for her.  Lindsey has mastered the recipe!

Sharing the Christmas story

No pictures of all of us, but Lindsey did get a picture of her sweet family!

On Christmas Eve, we traveled to Lindsey's to enjoy the evening with them.  We left after they opened presents Christmas morning (and a wonderful breakfast) and made it back to spend some time at Caleb's with the little ones.

My favorite part is watching them open the gifts they got from each other.  Super sweet!

Slightly out of order!  Putting out food for the reindeer!

Sharing the Christmas story!

They gave me a much, much needed new broom!! I was only slightly disappointed that I didn't get the new can opener I need!

Headed to bed before Santa arrived!

Pop and I were supposed to meet Lindsey and her family at Church of the Highlands at Grants Mill.  Sadly, we were at Urgent Care with Pop (migraine).  I am happy to say that they went and had a great time, and Pop is much better.

These two precious ones got lots and lots of goodies!!!

I also wanted to share a picture from one of my favorite nights of the year!  We didn't get to have our Friendship Party last year, so it was wonderful to be together again.  Love this group so much!  (Virginia had already left before the picture.)

Now we are ready for all the new adventures that will come with the new year!
