We Celebrated for Days

What a fun few days we had celebrating Reed's special birthday.  He and I went out to eat on his actual birthday, and then we ventured to Smith Lake for the weekend with the whole gang.  We had never been to Smith Lake before.  He simply wanted to spend spend a relaxing weekend with the family, and enjoy a little football.  I think we achieved that, even though he had to watch the Alabama game on his phone!  Internet issues wouldn't let us watch that one particular game.  Oh well! We had a wonderful time being together.  Praying for many more birthdays and adventures as a family.

Happy Birthday!

The Birthday Boy!

The Chief Cooks

Happy Birthday to You! Sweet Lillian was in charge of decorating.  She made sure everything was perfect.

We stayed in a beautiful new bardominium that was directly on the water.  BUT, to get to that water you had to go down 138 steps and a bridge that swayed to get there.  I made it to the last set of stairs.  Reed said there was no way I could handle the swaying bridge, and he was right. I documented the journey down.  (That's a neighborhood dog that spent the weekend with us.)

Everyone was all smiles going down, but there was lots of huffing and puffing coming  back up.

Looking back at me from way down below!

Once they got there, the fun was on!

Lots of pictures!

The celebrations just didn't stop!

My People

I am including way too many pictures below of our time together.  Games, laughter, playing, napping, snuggling, eating great food and more made this a wonderful weekend.  Also, Pop is very easy to celebrate.

60 never looked so good!!
We are back home now working hard to get the house finished.
We hope to move soon.

Happy Birthday to You!

Time sure flies when you are having fun!  It seems absolutely impossible that Reed will be 60 tomorrow.  I will say that I have been blessed to share his last 43 birthdays with him (4 dating and 39 married). I am looking forward to many more birthdays and many more adventures!  We are all going to celebrate him this weekend at Smith Lake.  I think he's going to enjoy a low key, no work birthday. Happy, happy birthday!  You are loved more than you know!

Labor Day

A lot of laboring when into this past weekends Labor Day holiday.  Josh and Lindsey came to help Pop.  Together, they installed about 1600 square feet of flooring.  I absolutely love it, and we appreciate it more than they could ever know!  I am going to do a giant post on the renovations once it's finally over.  We can see the light dimly shining in the distance.  Right now, we are waiting on our kitchen cabinets to arrive.  I've been told any day now for about 3 weeks........

This is one hardworking crew!

This is just a little glimpse of what's going on in the kitchen area.  A wall is now gone, beam up, floor down, and this ceiling is almost complete since I took this picture.  Lots more to come! Pop has wanted to do this project on his own.  So far, he has held to that.  I did convince him to let the flooring people come install down the hallway and in his office.  We are operating on a timeline now, and it's going by quickly.

The big kids enjoyed what I told them could be their last swim ever in this pool.  They are just excited about a new pool!  That new pool is proving to be a challenge though.  I have probably called 15 pool dealerships.  Many are booked until 2023, and some won't come this far. I thought it would be a much easier process.  I think I have it worked out though, fingers crossed!

Thirty four years of memories have been made here!  The pergola will be coming with us. And so will these precious grandkids!  They are so excited for us to move.

John Sawyer and Jack enjoyed a little tractor time with Pop.  This was Jack's first time, and he loved it!!

I am heading to Lineville this weekend to watch Maddie in another Cross Country meet.  Pop is staying behind to work.  More to come!
