Life lately has been wonderful but very busy. Lots of miles have been traveled, and more memories made. I am thrilled that the weather is finally warming up. I am very much over the cold. Soccer, track, baseball and more have filled our days recently. We are praying that Lillian is able to get her cast off this week just in time to play in her last softball game of the season. In between games, lots of yard work has been done. That's a daily chore that I am truly enjoying. The pool is pretty chilly, but we did manage to squeeze in a really fun pool day this weekend. The next couple of weeks will be busy with awards programs, a birthday party, soccer All-Star tournament and more. I am very thankful for these busy, but awesome times with these sweet kiddos.
The little ones had a high ole time fishing with the net and stick and looking for tadpoles in the goldfish pond.
After Maddie's track meet, Lillian looked at me and sweetly asked if they could come home with us for a day or so. Of course, we were thrilled. Reed later told me that he had to choose between coming with us or staying home and playing X-Box. I am happy to say that Pop and Nana won! Stinker! Uncle C and the boys came over Sunday afternoon, and they had a great time swimming. It is still way too cold for me.
Everybody jump! It is my goal for Jack to learn to swim without floaties this summer. John Sawyer learned at 3, and since Jack literally loves it and has no fear, I am hoping he will too.
Belle also got in the fun!
We meet Lindsey and Maddie at Peach Park to hand the little ones back over. Can you believe Maddie wouldn't let me get a picture of her on the horse??
Now on to sports-
Pop and I attended the State Track Tournament in Cullman this weekend. There are truly no words to describe how proud we are of this sweet girl. We tend to forget that she is still in the 8th grade. She qualifed for and raced in the 800, 1600, 3200 and 4 x 800 relay. She did awesome! I am glad that she has a couple of weeks off before summer workouts for Cross Country begins.
John Sawyer has improved so much this season! He has received the game ball and the hustle award in his last few games. He has become an awesome little hitter! His team won the regular season, but now it's on to the post-season tournament.
Champions!! So proud of Josh and Reed. They had a great season, ending undefeated with one tie. The championship game was 2-1, although they had MANY just missed goals. I am so glad they get to experience this together. Next up, All-Stars!
Now, fingers crossed and prayers offered that sweet Lillian gets a good report about her hand Friday and can play in her final game. She has been a trooper, but we are all ready to watch her play!
More to come.
