Fun Visit

We were thrilled to have the big kids here for the weekend. I picked them up from school Friday, and we headed back west! Our first stop was to see the little ones! I love watching them play together. There were lots of smiles, laughs and good times! Maddie, Reed and Pop did a little hunting, but mostly we hung close to our house playing and cheering on the Tide.  We can't wait until their next visit!

Sweet Jack was definitely the star of the show!  They were amazed at how he is growing.

John Sawyer loves his big cousins.  He spent one night with us, so he got to have lots of playtime.

He loves his Reed!  And Reed loves him.
We even did a few art projects!
Maddie is hard at work!  That's John Sawyer's reindeer on the right.  And yes, it will be on the tree!

Hard at work!
Slinky on the stairs, swords and more assure that there is never a dull moment!
John Sawyer and I also enjoyed some time at the park one day last week.  He also loves playing outside with his tractors and trucks. Little Jack is growing and changing daily!

We are blessed beyond measure!

Fall Fun

I have been under the weather for about 10 days, so today is the first day I have been out and about in a while.  What a beautiful day it was!  Reed and I took Belle and Beau down to our land to do a little exploring!  I am definitely a summer person, but I also love this time of the year.  The leaves are changing color, the air is cooler, and it's almost perfect out!

These two dogs provide lots of entertainment!  They absolutely loved running, swimming and exploring!

This is my favorite view in the world!  Each season provides a different look.

Beau and Belle are both super active, and love days like this! They will both sleep good tonight.

They also enjoyed a little ride on the Ranger.

And these sweet guys had a great weekend. They packed it full with a trips to the zoo and the pumpkin patch!

They also painted and carved a few pumpkins.
These guys also enjoyed a trip to the zoo.

I did enjoy a few hours with this cutie Friday afternoon.  We managed a trip to the park, and a little playtime outside.

I am looking forward to a great week!

Camping

Camping-Sit around the campfire-eat smores-explore-go fishing-swim-stargaze-make memories......

We had planned a late summer camping trip to the beach, and then Sally changed those plans.  So, we waited a couple of weeks and headed to Wind Creek on Lake Martin. Maddie, Lillian and Reed live near there and actually spend a good bit of time there. We were a little afraid that they wouldn't enjoy this as much, but boy were we wrong! What fun we had!  We learned a good bit about this campground, and will make a few changes next time, but I feel like we will definitely be back. Did I mention that John Sawyer went with us?  I love watching them together, and can't wait until Jack can join us. I'm going to exercise my right as a grandparent and say that these are the sweetest children.  They are so easy to travel with, and mostly I love how they love each other.

The gang's all here!

Pop couldn't figure out how to get both the boat and camper there, so he booked a fishing trip with a guide service there.  He, Reed and Maddie had a great time!  They left very early in the morning, so they enjoyed a little nap on the boat. Pop cooked the fish that night, and not one bite was left.

Lillian wants no part of fishing or hunting.  So, while the others were fishing, I made her an appointment for a manicure/pedicure.  We were so surprised to find Trucks for Tykes (I think) downtown.  JS and Lillian enjoyed firetrucks, tractors, tow trucks, cotton candy and more!

And look at those nails!

Back to the campground and the lake-

The playground was close to us, so they spent lots of time there. They also loved riding their bikes.  No pictures of that though.

Such a beautiful place-

Playing at the campsite, kayaking and a little nap in the hammock....Who could ask for more? (And, Pop set up that tent for them to play in.  My tent days are over!!!)

Back to the playground.....

And wouldn't you know it, we found another playground! We enjoyed a little Uno and Old Maid there.

What sweet, sweet boys!! (Reed is sporting some red lips and teeth thanks to a snowcone)

I hope they will always remember these times!! We were surprised by a visit from Josh and Lindsey.

We can't wait until this little one can join us.  Pop and I think we may have to get a bigger camper!

Memories were made, and fun was had by all.  But, man was I tired!

Visit

I really shouldn't even call myself a blogger anymore......I've just gotten terrible, and I am making no promises to do better.  I'm going to try, but I am just not sure it's going to happen. We just spent a wonderful long weekend with 4 of our grandbabies at Lake Martin-but I'm not blogging on that yet.  I'm taking it back to the weekend before.  Lindsey, Josh and the kids spent the weekend here, and we had a quiet, simple weekend.  That just happens to be my favorite kind.

They helped me get ready for the ballgame by making the best sausage balls and pigs in a blanket!

We spent a good bit of time at Papa's playing and showing them recent updates to the house. The zip line has been a big hit.  However, with Maddie's long legs we are going to have to raise it soon.

People are always telling me how much the girls look like their mom.  Usually, I don't see it.  We were riding up the street, as Lillian was walking.  When I looked out the car window, I was amazed at how much this reminded me of  Lindsey.

Sporting their Mossy Oak Conservation Day shirts.

This little one along with his mom, dad and brother spent this day at Tuscaloosa Barnyard, but were able to join us for the ballgame.

The pool might have been just a tad cool, but that didn't stop this gang from getting in one last swim for the year.  Reed decided it was too chilly, but the girls hung in there!

Belle enjoyed it, too!

This precious angel is almost 5 months old!  He is the happiest baby.

Now, I am going to try and get the Lake Martin post up before Christmas!
