Winter Wonderland

I am one of the true snow lovers of the world!!  However, lately I have come to really question if it would ever snow here again.  So many times, our snow predictions turn into nothing more than a few flakes!  Not this time though! 

This was taken about 7:30 at night.  It had been coming

down pretty good for a while, but was just

starting to stick.

Gus wasn't quite sure what to think.

I convinced Reed to take me for a ride around

8:00 to really check things out.

It was really coming down on our ride.

This was around 9:00 at night.

Right before bedtime-9:30!

The weatherman says it will be gone before lunch.  School was just delayed, not cancelled.  But right now, it is simply beautiful.

Uncle C

Uncle C is simply the best!  Maddie loves him and he loves her!

It was freezing outside, but after about

the 1000th time she said "outside"

Caleb obliged!

We bundled her up and off they went.

After a rather long walk, Caleb brought her

home and she refused to come in.  So,

this time Pop took her for another walk.

Caleb and Maddie also got in a little sidewalk

chalk time.  Check out C's awesome fish!

It was too cold to play on the big wheel outside, so

Uncle C found a way to make it work inside.

In between rides, they played a little airplane...

Back to the big wheel - Uncle C is the most fun!

Maddie's Day Spa

Maddie loves to have her toes painted - and she decided to spread the love to her Uncle C.  (And boy wasn't he wonderful to let her do this!)

Lazy Day

Day 1-

Maddie is here for a long weekend. (And yes, Nana took the off to be with her!)  Outside it is cold, wet and absolutely miserable.  Inside, it is warm and cozy.  We are just hanging out having a lazy day.  Sometimes those can be the most perfect of all days.

Our day started early - around 5:30.  By 7:00 she had gotten a bath, had breakfast 2 different times, played babies, rode on her little firetruck, read a couple of books, and painted our toenails.......

daycare, but her mom and dad have decided she's not

quite ready to give it up full time!!  I couldn't agree more.  If she's

happy Nana's happy.

making soup.

Pulling paper off the crayons so they'll be just

right for coloring a picture.

And at 10:30 this morning, she and her baby are both out!!

The Greatest Show on Earth

Cotton candy + snow cones + tigers, elephants, and zebras = one happy girl...

We had a ball with Maddie and her mom and dad at the circus.  We were a little worried that it might be a little long for her, but she had a ball.  She laughed, danced and clapped all through the entire event.  She would sit in one of our laps for a while, and then move on to the next person.  She was such a trooper....She only napped about 20 minutes the entire day, but was still an angel! We are already looking forward to next year! 

Reed and I got there early and were able to watch the

The pre-show was lots of fun, although Maddie

wasn't too crazy about seeing the clowns up close.

Cutie Pie!

We decided to eat at the new Ezelle's Catfish in Bessemer. The wait time was an hour,

so we walked next door to Applebe's.  The wait there was an hour and a half....So, we walked

on to Cracker Barrel....This paci was much needed after her long day.....

This kept her occupied for quite a while.

Fun was had by all.....

We had wanted Caleb to go with us, but for some reason the last day of deer season trumped the circus!

We had such a wonderful day!  We can't wait until we see them again.
