Fall Soccer

The fall season of soccer has begun.  We ventured to Alex City last week for Maddie's first game of the season.  The game ended in a 2-2 tie. It's not a loss, so I guess we'll call it a victory. She has moved up to the U10 league.  Basically, they are playing on a much bigger field.  Pop and I are still trying to figure out this sport, but we love watching Maddie play!

Weekend Fun

We enjoyed a long weekend with the grandbabies this weekend.  We didn't have anywhere to go and nothing special planned to do.  These are by far my favorite types of visits!  We rode the polaris, checked on dove fields, played in the sandpiles, swam, picked flowers and just hung out!  The only pictures I took of the weekend were at the sandpile, and there are only a few of the girls.  This is because they like to strip down as soon as they arrive! Uncle C and Aunt Taylor also told them about the baby.  Maddie has been waiting forever on this to happen!  Maddie and Reed are Team Blue and Lillian thinks she's going to be Team Pink.

This is the only picture I can share of Maddie.  She gave us a ride to the sand piles.  Beau is her co-pilot! It's probably best that I can't share pictures of her!  She likes to climb and jump from the highest spots now.  I keep telling myself that her mom and Uncle C used to do the same! The higher, the better!

I do have a few of Lillian before she undressed!  As soon as we stopped, she and Beau took off!  He enjoys it as much as the kids do!

Fun was had by all!  Soccer games (or are they called matches?) start this week, and gymnastics starts this weekend.  It's a busy, hectic time of the year, but we love it.   They are all at such fun ages, and we don't want to miss a thing!  

Thirty-Five

I can't say that it seems like just yesterday, but I can say that it certainly doesn't seem like we were married 35 years ago! We have been truly blessed! Two beautiful children, an awesome son and daughter in law, 3 super grandchildren and another on the way make our life abundantly full. Reed surprised me with a trip to Savannah, but work obligations led to a change. We opted for a long weekend in Point Clear.  It was the perfect get away!


We ventured to both Dauphin Island and Gulf Shores for a little beach time!  Both beaches were beautiful, but the waves were extremely high!  I may or may not have had a huge wipe out!  I managed to hold on to my visor and sunglasses, but did momentarily loose parts of my bathing suit!  Oops!

We also enjoyed a marsh tour!  This was lots of fun.  We saw several alligators, birds, plants and more!

We also ate really, really well! Both of these meals were on the Causeway after a  couple of our adventures.  That's my excuse for my hair!

We can't wait for the next 35 years!

Back to School

School has started and we have been back in the swing of things for a couple of weeks now.  I have a new job (still with GEAR UP) that takes me to Hale, Greene, Perry and Pickens County high schools now.  I am loving it, but still getting the hang of lots of changes.  Maddie, Lillian and Reed have also started back, and all are doing great!  It's still hard for me to believe we have a third grader, kindergartner and one in 3K.  I would also proudly like to add that Lindsey recently completed her Masters and is now national board certified.  That's no easy feat with three little ones!  We are super proud of her!

Just a Fishing

Pop took Reed and Maddie fishing one day recently.  Lillian is just not into that, so she and I hung out at the house.  Reed is just reaching the age where he enjoys these outings!  He had a ball on this trip.  As he was reeling in a fish, he decided to throw his reel down, and just grab the line and pull it in by hand!  I predict lots and lots of hunting and fishing with this one.  I think he's going to enjoy it as much as Maddie does! Today they were fishing at a pond that we don't venture to very often.  It's a beautiful small pond by the camp house, and is perfect for a fun afternoon!

Lillian's not a big fan of hunting and fishing, but that's just fine!  She and Nana have lots and lots of fun when the other two are off with Pop!!

They were suppose to be here this weekend, but all three were sick.......I am missing them like crazy!!
