This and That

There has been a vicious rumor going around that I can assure you is false.  It seems that our precious Lillian was not her adorable, near perfect self after our visit.  Supposedly, she wanted to be held all the time, and was prone to cry when that didn't happen.  I told Caleb that I didn't think we held her too much.  He said, "Well Mom, I've been trying to think of a time when she was on the floor playing by herself, and I really can't."  Oops!! What can I say, we loved every second of having both of them here! And in Lillian's defense, she was teething.  By the next morning after she returned home, she was back to her precious self!

Just a few more pictures to share-

Uncle C

Can we say smitten?  Uncle C and Lillian did some serious bonding on this visit.  He is wonderful with both girls!

Doing double duty!  Wagon rides and going down the hill on the big wheel!

Lillian is watching closely as wild thing goes down the hill!

Uncle C has everything under control! Maddie is getting a wagon ride back up the hill as Uncle C carries the big wheel back up for her!

Pop's Hunting Buddy

Maddie specifically asked to hunt "reindeer" while she was here, and of course Pop was thrilled to take her.  On their first hunt, they actually saw several deer, and Maddie was quite concerned when Pop told her they were all too small to shoot.  In addition to the deer, she also listened to an owl and pigs!  They both had a great time, and I expect there will be many more adventures like this one in their future!

Pop gave her a few safety tips with the Caleb's old Daisy BB gun!

All hunters have to fend for themselves!  Her backpack had all the essentials-whales, crackers, juice, comforter, and the all important Ipad!

All smiles as she heads out to get the big one!

All serious hunters have pink boots!  Also, the coveralls were either Caleb's or Lindsey's!

Pop was able to take a few pictures while they were hunting.

It was a muddy mess walking in after all the rain and snow.

Too cute!  Watching for deer!

Time out for a little snack!

And then back to hunting!

Lots of memories were made!

A Snowy Day

Thursday was quite a day! We were suppose to get out of school early due to the weather, but it progressed rather quickly. After the roads closed, the students weren't able to leave. However, Nana and Pop had made plans to get the girls and a little snow wasn't going to stop us! So we headed east by going south and we made it just fine!

First, a little snow fun at AES!
This was my view as I arrived home!  It had already started melting, but it was still beautiful to me!

I am so glad that one corner of our yard still had snow the next morning, so Maddie could enjoy it.

Reed's hayfield and slough - beautiful!!

I hope the next snow day comes quickly!!  I love it!!

A Little Slow

Things are moving just a little slow in the world of blogging right now!  I told Reed and Caleb they needed to do something really exciting this past weekend, so I could blog about it.  However, they failed to cooperate.  Things are looking up though - The girls are coming this weekend!  Both of them!  We are beyond excited!  I was looking through some old photos on my phone recently.  I am amazed at how fast these two angels are growing up!!  Hopefully, I will be back with some great, exciting stories after our fun filled visit with the girls!!

A look back at the girls and how they have changed - It's hard to believe this was just 7 months ago!
(What was the hospital thinking when they put that hat on our little angel?!)

And now - Precious!!

Friends and the Tide

I am always quick to point out how much my coworkers mean to me!  Most of us have been together for quite some time now, and we have very strong bonds!  Now for the other side of the story-there is a little bit of division among us, and it shows on occassions like the BCS National Championship game.  We have some die hard Auburn and Mississippi State fans that just wouldn't join in the celebration with us!  However, the majority of us yelled "Roll Tide" rather loudly this past week!  We also had a couple of Auburn fans that reluctantly joined in on wearing red and white.

As Mr. Smart, my principal and an avid Mississippi State fan said, "Right now, It's ya'll's world and the rest of us are just living in it!"

Bob's House

There is just something about family and family gatherings.  It doesn't matter how often you see each other, or how far apart you may live - being with family is just simply special!  My uncle and his son's family from Texas came to hunt recently, so we met at my cousin Bob's quite impressive "Man Cave" for a little get together.  We weren't all able to be there, but the ones that were truly enjoyed spending time together.  I think it's something about getting older that makes you appreciate the little things more.....

When I got home and looked at pictures, I did not have one single picture of Bob looking at the camera!  OOPS!!

Just hanging out!

My uncles - Michael and Gerald- They are twins and my mom's baby brothers.

There is always a ballgame when we get together!  This year we did add a few new players to the game!

Landry and Harrison had their own little private game going!  Is this not just precious!

Three sweet, sweet sisters!  Bethany, Adrian, and Cassandra with Harrison, Tyson and Landry.

Someone thought mud riding would be a good idea!

I think this picture sums it up pretty well - good, bad, right or wrong - we really do love each other!

I can't wait until our next visit! Hopefully, everyone will be able to be there next time!

Great Start

What a great start to the new year!  Josh and Lindsey went on a short trip for the new year, so Reed and I headed east for the night to keep the girls.  Rather than fireworks or watching the ball drop, we played with lincoln logs, playdough, legos, and blocks.  Maddie also did some serious riding on her new bike.  Reed and I are trying to think of other trips they could take!  I can't think of a New Year's Eve I enjoyed more!

Pop discovered that the wagon that holds one set of legos was the perfect size for Little Bit!  She loved it!

Maddie also got in on the fun, and pulled Lillian around, too!

She is the most content baby you will ever find!

Santa brought Maddie a new bike for Christmas.  She went around the house about 100 times (no joke) with Pop and Cody following close behind!

Santa also brought her a new bookbag.  When she's in the house, she usually has it on!  Precious!

Lillian and I were up at midnight, and we did hear fireworks in the distance.  However, for us the best celebration was just being with these two angels.  We can't wait until our next visit!
