This and That

Things are pretty calm around here right now.  Pop and I are busy working and keeping up with our sweet grandbabies.

John Sawyer was ready for church last Sunday morning.

Maddie has started a new martial arts class, and she is loving it!

Lindsey sent these sweet pictures she took of her kiddos this week.  It's amazing how fast they are growing up!  Reed will soon be starting soccer, and Lillian will be playing softball again.  Pop and I are ready to hit the road again!

And this cutie and I get in lots of peek-a-boo games!  He is so very precious!  It's been a wonderful, but very quick almost 11 months!

And we had the best visit with Lauren Fraser and her two cuties!  Reed and Gentry are almost the same age, although Gentry is quite a bit bigger.  They had a great time together!

Have a great week!

Weekend Fun

Lately, it seems like every post I do should be entitled "Catching Up." John Sawyer spent a long weekend in the mountains with his parents, but the other three joined us for a fun visit.  We didn't do anything special, which are my favorite type of visits.  It rained and rained, and was quite chilly.  Still, we managed to have another great time together.

Pop and Maddie once again enjoyed several hunts over the days she was here.  She loves dove hunting now.  That's always been Pop's favorite, too.

And she also killed her biggest deer ever! This was her ninth deer to kill-and she's only nine!  Pop loves spending time with her in the woods!

I am so enjoying my John Sawyer days!  His sweet smile makes my day! Did I mention he's a walker now?

Why yes, I always put him down when he goes to sleep.

We had never visited the exercise equipment at our walking track.  The kids loved it even though it was cold and wet!  We will definitely go back. They also enjoyed the covered playground.  That will be awesome on hot, summer days.

I promise I combed this sweet girl's hair!

John Sawyer may have been gone, but we took care of Levi.  I'm not sure who's walking who!

That's better!

Maddie and Pop stopped by for a little while.

Sweetest girl-ever!  Hands down!!

Reed and I so enjoy cooking for the Senior Meal at our church each month.  Jeff Long, Greg Turner and their band performed this month.  They were awesome!!

Next up, Maddie's latest adventure!

Sweet Baby

I am keeping John Sawyer a couple of days a week now, and I am loving every minute of it!  He is growing so quickly, and is just a joy.  He has the sweetest personality, and loves exploring everything.  Unless he's hungry or sleepy, he rarely cries.  Even then, it only lasts a very short time. It's hard to believe it's only been 10 months, because it's simply hard to remember life before him.  He has mastered going up our stairs, which is something we always strive to teach them as soon as possible. His favorite word is "mama". We are still waiting on a tooth, and he is taking a few steps.  He gives the very best kisses, and is a master explorer. (I'm not sure what's wrong with the spacing on this blog! I can't get it corrected, so I'm going with it!)

Furniture inspector!

His mom and dad got a new bed, and John Sawyer helped Pop set it up!

Enjoying some veggie snacks in a chair that Papa actually made for Lindsey and Caleb.

It's been pretty cold and rainy, but he loves to swing when he has the chance.

Hi there Nana!

Taking a little ride in the neighborhood.

I'm not sure there is anything sweeter in the whole world than a sleeping baby!

Maddie, Lillian and Reed will be here this weekend, and we can't wait!  There is no time quite like grandbaby time!

Catching Up

I just can't seem to keep up with blogging as well these days.  I promise to do better, because I truly enjoy looking back and seeing how our babies are growing and changing.  Before the kids went home, we enjoyed a trip to Upsurge.  We also had lots of fun hanging out here!

First, is there anything more fun than the Pie Face game??

Uh Oh!

Lillian actually took a hit almost every time it was her turn.  We were laughing too hard for me to get a picture!

This sweet girl came in from hunting and joined in the fun!

And sweet Rylie had a great time watching, but she refused to take a turn!

We had a ball at Upsurge. They are old pros at this now!

We so loved having this one!  She is just a joy!

The gang's all here!

Future Ninja Warrior!

So sweet!

And this one is down another tooth since this was taken!!

Still all smiles at the end of the hour!

We are looking forward to our next adventure!

Happy New Year

We had a great start to the new year!  Maddie, Lillian and Reed were here for the week, and Rylie joined us for the visit!  We loved having her, and she fit right in with her cousins.  The week was filled with laughter, fireworks, a few adventures and lots and lots of memories were made.  There's nothing quite like spending time with cousins! Even though the rainy weather kept us inside most of the time, the kiddos were quite the little troopers!

Happy New Year! Fireworks and smiles!

This angel is growing more and more every day!  He loves to watch the dogs!

And these cuties were watching the squirrel eat all of the bird feed!

This wonderful game which cost $2.50 provided lots of excitement!  However, it's now in the trash.  It didn't take long to figure out why it cost so little!

Oh, how I love this precious smile!

We tried to sneak out during breaks in the rain!  Bucky the swing was a big hit!

Maddie and Pop managed to get in a few deer and dove hunts.  She loved dove hunting!

Sadly, Pop and I just didn't master the Jenga game!

Beau loves to grab the biggest stick he can find and run like a mad dog around the yard as the kids chase him! It just doesn't take much to entertain us!

So far 2019 is off to a great start!  Next up, more of our visit!
