Softball, Cross Country and Candy

Life continues to move right along.  We journeyed to Andalusia to see Maddie run in her Sectional Meet, which is where you qualify for State.  I am happy to say that she finished strong in 4th place.  She has shown so much improvement this year.  Her dedication and work ethic are just amazing! Her team finished 3rd overall and all made it to state.  I'm sad to report that John Sawyer and Taylor have the flu.  We were suppose to go to the Barnyard with John Sawyer and his class today, but sadly he couldn't make it.  My buddies and I are headed to the Christmas Village this week!  I can' wait!  Next weekend, we will divide and conquer multiple events.  Pop will join Reed and Coach Josh for a soccer tournament.  I will be with Lillian at a softball tournament.  Lindsey will be with Maddie at her state tournament.  Busy, but so much fun!  I hope the little ones are well enough to spend some time with us Friday.

The day before JS got sick, he and Jack helped me organize the Halloween candy.

I love watching this one play!  She loves it, and loves spending time with her friends.

Buddies!

Next weekend will be his turn!  I love watching him and hate to miss his first tournament.

The gang's all here and ready to cheer on our girl! She has been amazing this year!  Each race she seems to improve more and more.  She is beginning and finishing strong each race!

Got to get the ponytail just right!

So very proud of her!

She has so much support!  This poster was made by a faculty member and many of the signed it wishing her luck.

So Long Flowers and More

This weekend was filled with the grandsons!  Reed came home with us after Maddie's meet, and JS and Jack (and their parents) joined us for the ballgame.  We spent lots of time outside enjoying the beautiful fall weather. I spent today moving ferns and palms ahead of this upcoming cold snap. Here's just a little recap of recent days.

We have enjoyed our sun patients this year.  They have been just beautiful. I'm a little sad about this upcoming early cold snap!  I'm not quite ready to let it all go.  I have pansies ready to plant, but I'm waiting until the last moment to pull these up. I have a feeling that they will be gone by about Thursday.

I did go out and pick quite a few flowers today for a final, farewell arrangement.  I'm already planning for next year.

This girl just continues to amaze us!  Her work ethic is amazing.  She just has sectionals and state remaining.

Reed came home with us following the race, so we could attend Alabama's soccer match. Watching the number 2 team in the nation (now #1) and #6 Arkansas was so much fun. I strongly recommend attending if you haven't.  These girls are just awesome! Roll Tide!

We are directly behind this post game picture.  If you enlarge it, you can see Pop and me.

We owe Angie lots of cheese!  I did offer to sweep, but she kindly declined. :)

A new adventure-rolling down the hill!

No Nana, I will not look at you to take a picture!

Love these cuties.

It was Homecoming Week last week for these guys.  I'm going to share my all-time favorite twin day characters-Meet Maverick and Goose!  I absolutely love this!!

Staying Busy

Life has been good lately. Lillian's softball tournament was cancelled last weekend, so we were home with the little ones.  We will be on the road this weekend for another Cross Country meet. We have been able to see parts of the state that I never knew existed thanks to these east Alabama babies and their sports!  Maddie has had an awesome year.  Reed will soon be starting All Stars in soccer, and Lillian has another tournament in a couple of weeks.  They keep us busy, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

This sweet girl recently won the Reputation on the Line Award for her fantastic effort and contribution to her team.  We are so proud of her! Sometimes we forget that she is still in the 8th grade and competes against Varsity teams from all divisions (1A-7A) across the state.

I've said before that I had no idea how emotional this sport is.  It's something I can't explain, but it definitely tugs at your heart when she's running.

The little boys spent the weekend with us and oh what fun we had!  We went on a little fishing adventure and played in the sandpiles.  Caleb was off Monday, and he brought them back for some more fun!

This slough is one of my favorite places.  The trees are beginning to change color, and it's just beautiful.

Jack hasn't always been a fan of the sand piles, but he's getting better.  I think it's even more fun when you get to play in your pajamas.

This one is an old pro!

Checking out the overflowing well.

Looking for pigs, deer, squirrels and all the animals.

And look what we found!  This mama actually had two babies.  We were able to see them a couple of more times. I have a feeling these little piggies will soon be gone!

Feeding the neighbors horses is always fun!

We enjoyed a great fishing trip!  The boys loved catching the fish.  Jack didn't make it quite as long as John Sawyer.

Buddies!

Jack wasn't too sure about touching it!

Roasting marshmallows is always a hit!

Chilling!

More to come!

Weekend Fun

What a fun weekend we had!  We had all five grandbabies for much of the time. While we didn't do anything special, we managed to make lots of special memories. These are definitely my favorite kind of visits.  We are hitting the road again this weekend for a Cross Country meet and a travel ball tournament. We will also have the little boys.

Resting up for all the fun while on the way to Nana & Pop's house.

Headed for all the fun at the Carrollton Fall Festival!

Face painting

So much fun!

So much to see & do.

Lillian & Pop were the chief pancake cooks both mornings, but they did recruit lots of help!

Fort building time!

Cheese!

Blurry-but a little backyard line dancing.

Checkers anyone?

Does this mean frost is near?

More to come!
