A Little Fall Gardening

This past summer Maddie loved helping Pop in the garden.  Picking the small, red tomatoes was her favorite!  Well, we have never been a gardening family before, but this seems to be changing-at least with Reed anyway.  He cleaned out his beds and planted some turnips and collards.  We have already had  a few to eat, and guess who loves helping with these also!!

Notice the super, wonderful, can't- do-without-it blanket.  We're not sure what we'll do if she ever looses it!

 Now that the bag is full, we headed inside to cook them!!  Yum........

Another Picasso

It could be said that when I find something that I enjoy doing, I keep doing it over and over again!  Well my latest favorite thing seems to be trips to Sips and Strokes.  Even though I am NOT very good at it, I am enjoying myself greatly.  Maybe if I keep going, I'll get better!  They have quite a few Christmas pictures I
 liked, so I suggested to my buddy Jean that we venture on over.  Well, not only did Jean want to go, Susan and their Aunt Jean and Aunt Rie also joined us! We had a ball! I highly recommend this for a quick, inexpensive but fun trip!

So, we put on our paint shirts and aprons, pumped out paint and the adventure began!

I had a ball with these two ladies!  They were wonderful, and I think they really enjoyed themselves!  I have decided that I want to be just like them when I grow up!!

Working for Her Keep

Maddie is a great helper. Pop cut some firewood and Maddie "helped" him unload it.

This is how it went-Maddie would reach in the pile on the truck and get a piece of wood.  Next, they would pick it up, and throw it over the fence.  She loves being involved in everything!

 Pop found these cute little boots at our local co-op.  She loves being outside so much that he thought these would be perfect for her.  She obviously had never walked in anything like this before, and it was hilarious to watch.

                                         Now she's all ready for the next adventure outside!

We don't have another visit planned until Thanksgiving.  That is waayyyy too long for me.  Hopefully we'll be able to work something else out!!  On a side note, we are skyping now and that is wonderful!! It's not nearly as great as seeing them in person, but it's lots of fun.  Maddie is enjoying it too.

A Special Treat

I recently celebrated my birthday.  I asked a special someone who wishes to remain anonymous to take off from work and spend the day with me at Sips and Strokes painting a Christmas picture.  (This was a special daytime session.) After surprising little resistance this person agreed (as long as I didn't tell anyone).......Thanks Sweetie-I enjoyed every minute, and I promise not to tell!

And I might add this person did a beautiful job!!!!

We had a great time playing at Peach Park in Clanton. It's a wonderful place to meet before we send our sweet girl back home...Above she is taking a little nap on the way there. Too cute!!

A Visit from Tinkerbell

Maddie came home with us after our trip to Boo at the Zoo.  Once again, we had a great time!  She was having her Halloween celebration at her church Sunday afternoon, so we had to meet her mom rather early Sunday.  We still managed to have lots of fun in a short amount of time!!

Trick or Treating

We have a wonderful neighborhood for trick or treating.  She loves getting candy.  She caught on to this real quick at Boo at the Zoo.  She doesn't eat it.  She just wants to put it in her goody bag.   I had to leave her to help host a party, but Pop and Maddie had a blast!!  After they finished, they went home to greet our trick or treaters.  Pop said she really didn't like the kids with masks on and all the commotion.........

(We had sent her cute little pumpkin bag home with Mom and Dad.  So, we trick or treated with a Mossy Oak Bag!  Gotta love that!)

Our visit was over before we knew it!  However, we met Mom at Peach Park and had a great time.  More on that later.....  And on a little side note, she has been saying "Nana" for quite a while now.  But now she is saying it with quite a bit of emphasis!  I love it!!!  She is beginning to say "Pop" (Bop) a lot too!  It's a beautiful sound!
