Crawfish with Caleb

Caleb  has had a really tough semester filled with tests and projects.  We were able to convince him to drive over and meet us for a quick supper in Columbus recently.  Caleb LOVES for me to pull the camera out in public......He looked at me at one point and said, "Mama please quit acting like you've never been anywhere before"......I keep telling him to just smile and work with me.  He was even more horrified when I pointed out that a man sitting behind us laughed everytime I took a picture!

 

Reed and Caleb each had 5 pounds! I had shrimp...

 

I think he said, "Dad, can't you make her put the camera down?"

 

And he said, "You know I can't do anything with her."

A Fun Little Cookout

Reed and Caleb recently spent an afternoon fishing.  They thought it would be a great idea to cook fish at the camphouse.  And for the record it,  they were right.  We don't do things like this enough.  We actually cooked the fish that Reed and I caught earlier in the week.

this was so pretty.  For some reason, we rarely ever fish at this pond.

Two

Wow! Time really does fly when you're having fun!  It is so hard to believe that our sweet Maddie is already turning 2......  Watching her precious personality develop has been quite interesting and entertaining. Nana, Pop and Uncle C are completely wrapped around her little finger.  (And yes, we have gotten  in trouble a time or two due to this!)  What we can we say?  We love spoiling her, and she loves being spoiled. I have loved every stage of her develolpment.  Sitting up, smiles, laughs, rolling over, crawling, eating new foods, walking, talking, playing, and even the occasional fit have all been milestones that I am so thankful we've gotten to be a part of!  Pop and I can't wait for more adventures as she grows older!  There are so many things that I can't wait to share with and do with her.

Another Fun Visit

Just a little more from our visit to Alex City-

We enjoyed our visit and can't wait until next weekend for Maddie's second birthday.  Her mom and dad have been working very hard to make her party special and we can't wait!!

Flying High

For some time now, Reed has wanted to fly a kite with Maddie.  However, we had lots of trouble finding a kite.  On this trip to Alex City, I found one while Lindsey and I were on a little shopping trip.  This trip was a combination of work and fun.  So after unloading a truck load of mulch in Lindsey and Josh's yard, Nana and Pop headed to the park with Maddie to try out our new kite.  It was an absolutely gorgeous day for it.  Alex City has a super nice park, but on this day it was packed with baseball and softball games, so we had to settle for a parking lot to fly our kite.  It proved to be the perfect place.

After about 45 minutes, she decided it was snack time.  Next,

she began to say, "Bye, bye, Pop." 

 And, she headed to the truck.

So, the kite came down and we headed back

to her house........

This was lots of fun and we can't wait to do it again!

And on a different note-

On our way to visit Josh, Lindsey and Maddie, Reed said to look at the turkeys walking down the road. (We were in Fosters.) As we got closer, we realized they weren't turkeys, but geese. It certainly was something you don't see every day......
