Poor Kitty

Well, Maddie and Kitty have somewhat of a love-hate relationship........Notice Kitty peacefully watching Maddie as she races down the hill on her big wheel.  Now, notice Kitty frantically trying to get out of the way as Maddie veers toward him!!  Also, that's Caleb's old helment she's wearing.

Pop has the best toys!!  Hand trucks and forklifts are simply the best!! Also, a couple more of the hill - she's carrying her big wheel back up the hill by herself now - and she goes entirely too fast now!!

We love our visits!!

Parade

Uncle Clyde has an antique firetruck, and he was nice enough to let Maddie ride shotgun with him at the recent Christmas Parade.  She wouldn't ride in the back, but she had a great time up front with him.  I have had several people tell me that she waved and smiled the whole time.

It's a Family Thing

Sometimes I will write a post that gets lost in the shuffle and doesn't make it to the blog on time. This is one of those posts. Sorry that it is just a little late.

We have made candy houses for Christmas for 22 years now.  Wow!  This year was a little impromptu!  And by that I mean we threw everything together at the last moment and made the most of it.  Caleb came back home briefly the night before the Iron Bowl, and wanted to go ahead and do them while the girls were here. We were just a little rushed, because his cell phone kept beeping with people waiting for him to get back to Tuscaloosa! However, as usual, it was lots of fun!  We hate Josh missed this!  He is very creative!  I had purchased most of the candy, but I didn't have any boxes, so we improvised!  We used a couple of flood light boxes, a cereal box, and the box from our Christmas cards!  Maddie didn't seem to mind, and that was all that really
mattered!  This was the first year that she really seemed to get it and enjoy it! 
This is one tradition that I hope continues for a long, long time!!

We actually have plans to do this again.  Maddie is coming back in a couple of weeks (which is now this weekend) and wants Jessi and Allison to make one with her!  I know that will be lots of fun, too!

And a special thanks to Pinterest for the idea below!  I thought this would be a great use for my fall pumpkins.  I have to say that I think he turned out pretty cute!! And the best part is that I only spent $1.30 on spray paint!!

Donuts, Sack of Taters and Snowball

Lillian loves her big sister, and big sis loves to make Lillian laugh!  Maddie says, "Donuts, sack of taters, and snowball", and Lillian goes wild!  It is precious to watch!

A Little Guy Fun

There is nothing Reed and Caleb enjoy more than spending a little time in the woods.  Reed and Caleb had been watching this deer for a while on the game cameras, and Reed just happened to be in the right place at the right time today.

 Caleb is in the middle of several tests this week, but he headed home to check it out and help his dad get it out of the woods.

Good job Dad!!

We are Thankful

I love any occasion that allows us to get together and enjoy good food and even better company.  However, Thanksgiving is definitely one of my favorites! 

The morning began in the shop with Reed and Mr. Jack frying up the turkeys.  Delicious!!  Wyatt and Caleb arrived to help sample!

I love the simple things of get togethers - playing games, talking, and just being together.

Now, the real fun begins!  Time to eat!

And the fun continues after the meal!  Nothing like climbing trees and playing a little football and tic tac toe!

This is one of my favorites!  Lee is sound asleep sitting up in the swing!  Josey and Charley woke him up!  Too cute!!

Josh and Lindsey spent Thursday with his grandmother and family.  He had to work Friday, but Lindsey and the girls were able to join us for the weekend.

We are truly thankful for all our blessings!

Pilgrims and Indians

Maddie's preschool recently held their annual Thanksgiving celebration.  It was precious-around 90 3 and 4 years dressed as either a pilgrim  or Indian and put on quite a show!!! The songs were great, and I wouldn't have misssed it for the world!  All of the Indians were given an Indian name.  Maddie was "Shy Fox."   

Maddie wasn't exactly thrilled about this production, but she was awfully cute!!

My pictures only show a small portion of the kids.....They were all adorable! 

And I think Little Bit will soon be crawling.  She is the happiest baby!

We are so thankful for these two special blessings!!
