Birthday Boy and Puppy Dogs

Our sweet son in law is the birthday boy this week.  They will be visiting this weekend,  and we look forward to sharing his special day with him.  Josh is a hardworking, soccer loving, sweet as can be person, and we are so thankful he's part of our family! But first, let's talk puppy dogs!

We enjoyed a day at the hay field with Gus and Beau.  Beau loves chasing anything that moves!  He runs non-stop the entire time we are there!

Gus is the grumpy grandpa of the group, and he has reached the point where he just likes to ride!

Beau and I came back by ourselves the next day to walk, and he hit the trail of some type of animal.  Off he went!!  Long story short-I thought we had lost him!  After an hour of searching and calling non stop, Reed was able to locate him deep, deep in the woods!  I love this stinker way more than I should, and would have been devastated if we hadn't found him!!

Now, back to the birthday boy!  He is simply the best dad!!  Just ask any one of the kiddos, and I promise they will vouch for him!

He's a pretty awesome husband, too!  We are very thankful for the way he loves and cares for our sweet daughter!

Bumps and Bruises

Following a weekend conference in Montgomery, I headed to Alexander City to help Josh with the kids while Lindsey attended a conference of her own.  Reed and I took the girls to school, and he and I planned to spend the day playing.  The morning had been just perfect, until suddenly it wasn't!!  More on that in a second, but first meet Lucy!


Maddie raised Lucy from a chick when she was in kindergarten!  Lucy seemed to love the cuddles from the kiddos!

Now on to the rest of my visit.  Reed had just gotten onto the trampoline, when he said, "Nana, watch me do this!" He rolled over a big ball, and shot out about a 6 inch opening in the net around the trampoline landing on the concrete!  It is an image I will never forget!  I scooped him up, and luckily Josh came home just moments after it happened, and we were soon on the way to the emergency room.  Not only did he have some pretty impressive bumps, scraps and bruises, he also has a slight skull fracture.  

He looks so pitiful here, but it was mostly because he didn't want me taking anymore pictures.

I am happy to say that he rebounded quickly.  The next morning after we took the girls to school, he asked to feed the ducks and get donuts.  I was happy to do both!  I also told him we would not under any circumstance get on the trampoline.  He assured me he didn't want to do that!

All he needs is a stick and he's a happy boy!

This was the perfect example of how quickly an accident can occur.  Even though I was right there with him, I wasn't able to stop him from shooting through that hole!  I still see the image him falling when I close my eyes.  He is healing quickly and hopefully the bruises and scrapes will soon fade away, but I promise this is something we will never forget! Lindsey also told me that Spring pictures are next week.........Uh oh!

Dancing and Little Beauties

Lindsey and Josh are in the beginning of the "busy season".  Soccer is starting back for Maddie, and Lillian will be playing T-Ball.  Josh will be coaching Maddie's soccer team, and dance and gymnastics will continue. I get tired just thinking about it.  Caleb and Taylor are on the downhill side, and we will soon be welcoming John Sawyer.  We have enjoyed all the wonderful showers.  He has gotten so many awesome gifts.  All we need now is for him to arrive!!

Did I mention that the girls had a beauty walk? I may be slightly prejudice-but I think these girls are simply beautiful!

This little, blue-eyed blonde is going break hearts one day!  He loved his sock hop at Jacob's Ladder this year!  I wasn't convinced he'd wear his jacket, but he proved me wrong!  He smiled, danced and was the perfect little T Bird!
