A Quick Update

After Maddie's Tuesday soccer game, we loaded the little ones up for a few days here before their parents and Maddie joined us for the weekend.  There are no words for how much we enjoy these babies, although we really missed Maddie.  We didn't do anything special, but we had lots and lots of special moments.  I'm going to miss it when they no longer want to pile in the bed and sleep with me. (There's just something special about a foot in the face at 3:00 in the morning:)!!) We enjoyed swimming in a near freezing pool, playing in the sandbox, entertaining Beau and visiting Papa.  Before we knew it, their mom, dad and Maddie were here for the weekend.

Lillian has lots of plans for when she turns 5 the end of May.  One of those plans is learning to swim.  I think she will learn in no time at all!  In the past, she has been a little afraid of the water, but she is ready now!!

I promise she wasn't crying, but that's quite the face!

This cutie is content hanging out on the steps for now!

Please trust me when I tell you that this water is really, really cold!  But yes, Nana joined in the fun, too!!

We loaded Beau up in the Ranger and picked up the granddog!

It's always a special treat to visit Mr. Tony.  Reed was long overdue for a haircut, and he loves Mr. Tony!

Lillian wanted a haircut, too.  She settled with a ponytail!

It's amazing how much fun a pile of sand can be!!

Is there anything in the world more fun than a sprinkler?

And it's probably wrong to love a dog as much as we love this stinker!! He's rotten!

Much more to come!  Fishing, crawfish, cousins and more!

And Another Game

Pop and I once again loaded up and traveled east to watch a soccer game that lasted an hour.  We then loaded up and headed back home.  I had a field trip the next day, so there was no rest for the weary.  I must say that their entire team has really improved.  The won this game 4-0, which I have been told is a pretty big margin.  Maddie loves playing, and we love anything she loves!!

Part of the cheering section!

The running never, ever stops!!!!

She played a really good game!!

Nana and Pop won the prize after this game!!!  We got to load these two cuties up and bring them home with us!  Mom, Dad and Maddie are coming for the weekend.

I promised this one that she'd get to come by herself one day soon.

Easter Egg Fun

I know this post is way, way behind!! I simply forgot to post it!

Last spring, Pop got Papa chickens to raise.  It has been quite an adventure finding a way to use 9 eggs a day!  I had never dyed brown eggs before, so I wasn't sure what to expect!  Reed was not in anyway interested in dying eggs, but the girls, Pop and I enjoyed it!  Reed played with Beau while this adventure was occurring.

Pop and this little stinker also entertained themselves by putting stickers all over their face!  They decided they didn't want me to take their picture though!

Lillian believes in really getting involved in the job! Nails by Aunt Tay!

Isn't that beautiful!!

Dying eggs is serious business!!

(Excuse the broom in the background!)

I just couldn't leave this one out!!

I love the dark colors!  We did learn that mixing colors leads to brownish grey eggs! I predict more egg dying in the future!

We  managed to squeeze in a few more egg hunts on this trip.  We seem to come up a couple short each time they search for them.  Cutting grass should be interesting. The girls also hid the eggs for Pop and me to find.

More to come!

Catch Up

Sometimes I go back through my pictures and realize I forgot to blog about certain events.  So, even though it may have happened a while back, I still like to include the memories.  When Lindsey and Caleb were little, I scrapbooked.  Blogging is so much easier!!! It helps me to somewhat organize our life into easy to find short stories!

Spring pictures for the little ones.  They are growing up so fast!

We took Lindsey and Caleb to the Ralph Morgan Rodeo in Lauderdale for many, many years. (We actually began going when we were dating, which was a really, really long time ago.) The grandbabies had never been to a rodeo, so we loaded up and headed to Mississippi.  I am happy to say that the rodeo did not disappoint.  We did miss Taylor.  She was attending the shower of a friend.

The first pictures are of Maddie trying to catch the calf and take the ribbon off.  Sadly, she didn't get it, but she'll know what to do next time!

One of the things we always enjoyed  the most was Lecile the clown.  Before we got there, we jokingly said we bet Lecile wouldn't still be around.  He was there in all of his 81 year old glory!!  I enjoyed him as much this time, as I did over thirty years ago!

 I love my sweet family!

We will be back next year!
