Another Year Older.......

Memory Lane

I recently took a little trip down memory lane.  When Caleb was little he spent hours playing with his little cars and tractors.  Neither of our children were ever big television watchers or video game players.  However, Caleb could occupy himself for quite awhile with his cars, trucks and farm animals. We saved a big bucket of his favorites, and now Maddie enjoys playing with them.  It was really fun to watch them playing together with them. ( I almost got a little teary eyed!)

lining things up on the coffee table, just like Uncle C!

The Park

Maddie, Pop and I enjoyed a fun morning at the park. We had not seen her for two weeks, and we were amazed by how much she had changed in that short amount of time.  She is talking up a storm.....By that , I mean real sentences.  She can also repeat everything you say, so you have to be really careful!  Our days begin early , and we try to fill every minute with fun!  She wakes up every morning around 5:30, sits up and says, "Let's eat." It's pretty much non-stop after that.  We love and appreciate every moment of it!  Spring break is coming up, so we hope to have her here again for a few days!

A Little Happy

This past weekend Caleb did LOTS of studying for some big tests he had this week.  Sunday afternoon he said he needed a break, so I talked him into venturing out on a little flower searching mission.  Of course, I have plenty blooming in my yard, but I didn't want to pick those.  First we headed down to our land, and I actually found several there.  On the way back home, I took a slight detour down another  road.  He was a little horrified when I hopped out and picked quite a few beautiful flowers from the side of the road.  Reed and I have enjoyed them all week.  Actually, Reed has not mentioned enjoying them, but I am sure he has! Ha! I love them. During this long, cold winter, I had forgotten how wonderful something as simple as a vase of flowers can make you feel.

Now, on another note. Although I love a good deal,  I am really not into garage sales or flea markets, and I promise I have NEVER before rummaged through anyone's garbage.  However, on my way to work recently, I noticed a wreath on top of one of my neighbor's garbage cans.  At first I just drove by.....I couldn't believe she could be throwing it away.  I actually tried to call Reed to see if he thought I should get it.  He didn't answer, so I took that as a sign that it was meant to be mine.  I had admired it many times (when it was hanging on my neighbor's door).  I stopped, quickly got out and threw it in my car before anyone saw me, and then made a super fast get away.  I decided not to hang it on my door until I talked to my neighbor and confessed that I took it.  She actually got a kick out of it.  She threw it away because birds kept building nests in it and were making a mess.  I am quite pleased with my find even though it is really a little too big for my door......But hey, you can't beat free, so I think it's perfect!

Happy Almost Spring!

One Fish, Two Fish.....

Caleb took advantage of our recent beautiful weather and did a little fishing.  It was the perfect day for this little outing.  He loaded up and headed to one of our ponds for a super fun and peaceful afternoon.

At first, he was going to bring them home for us.  However, he decided to let all of these little guys live to see another day.

Could It Be?

I am trying not to get my hopes up, but could it be that spring is really near?  I am starting to see signs pop up all around.  Take a look!

from bulbs I transfered from my grandmother's yard.

Spring Break comes early for me this year.  So, I am hoping that this warm weather continues. However, the 38 degree temperature early this morning has me wondering..............
