Park and Other Stuff

Maddie always enjoys the park when she visits.  This trip we took her to the Pickensville Park for a little change.  Again, it did not disappoint.  She simply enjoyed everything there - the swings, the slide, climbing, jumping, and playing in the sand!  She is so much fun!  She is very independent, which keeps us on our toes, but we wouldn't have it any other way!  We love every minute we have with her!

A Grand Day

Kitty and I ventured over to Alex City for Grandparent's Day.  We had a wonderful trip!  This year, Grandparent's Day was super fun.  Mrs. Angela and her staff had turned the entire daycare into a circus.  Booths, such as a duck pond, tight rope, basketball hoop, bowling, and beanbag toss, were set up for the kids to play and receive a prize.  One prize was a real, live goldfish!  I am sorry  to say we forgot her fish when we left!  Oops!  Mam, (Josh's grandmother), GiGi, (his mom) and Kaleb (his sister) also joined in the fun.  I LOVE spending time with our sweet girl.  I can truly say that being a grandparent is the greatest joy in the world!  Grandparent's day was quick, but wonderful!!

 Everyone is dressed and ready for an afternoon at the circus.  Most all of the other children had red noses on.......Maddie obviously wasn't into that!

So after Grandparent's Day, we headed back to Maddie's house.  I had dropped Kitty off before heading to the festivities!  They had quite a reunion.  At this point, I am not sure if Kitty is just visiting or if she is now living full time with Maddie and her mom and dad.  Time will tell!



Pop wasn't able to make this trip, but NeNe had a ball.  I ended up going down and coming back in the same day.  That made for a long day, but it was well worth it!  I love every second I can spend with our girl!

Bike Time

I recently found Maddie a cute little bicycle at the Little Lambs Consignment Sale in Tuscaloosa.  ( I also highly recommend this for all mom's and grandmother's.)  It's the perfect size, but she still hasn't mastered pedaling.  Even so, she had a ball with a little help from Pop.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the helmet was Lindsey's when she was little.  Pop found it in the garage....It might be a little (or alot) out of style, but it got the job done!

I think by Christmas, she'll have it down pat.  I think this cute little bike was worth every penny of the $10.00 I spent!

Mr. Tim

During Maddie's visit, one of our 1st stops was to see Mr. Tim.  I think she would have enjoyed hanging out at NAPA all day.  Mr. Tim had lots of fun things for a two year old.  He has always been very special to Maddie's mom (and us), and we think Maddie's going to be a fan of his, too.

Maddie Meets Kitty

We weren't sure how Kitty would react to Maddie.  We were afraid that there might be a few scratches or even bites, but we couldn't have been more wrong!  Kitty could not have been any sweeter to her.  He/She let Maddie drag him all over the house.  She pulled his tail, carried him upside down, and threw him off the furniture.  He didn't seem to mind at all!  She also cuddled and loved on him continuously.  She made sure he was fed, and it didn't matter to her what he ate.  She offered him everything from doughnuts to cheese curls!  They became wonderful friends in just a matter of minutes!

I am becoming quite the cat fan!

Settling In Nicely

Just a quick update on Kitty.  He (or maybe she) has found a wonderful home.  From all indications, he is loving life.  He sleeps, crawls on furniture, plays with his toys, whines loudly when hungry, and in general seems to be enjoying life greatly!  So, where is this new home?  Why it's right here of course!  Unless Maddie (and her mom and dad) decide they want him, I guess he's ours. I never thought I'd like a cat in the house, but it's really a lot easier than a dog.  I am still however very much a dog person!  And we are trying to establish some boundaries for him! And not to worry-Kittie also found a great home, but we have to keep that a secret........No huge pet deposits for us!

Now the only problem we have is what to name this fellow......... I like Willie.  Reed likes Paco (He's wanted to name our last several pets that for some reason.)  And of course, we could just stick with Kitty.....

Lazy, Peaceful Day

Recently after church, Marnetta and I headed to their river house and spent a few hours floating away.  The youth were having a Worship on the River event a few miles up river.  Tim helped with this, but we instructed him to keep all the boats up there with him!  Mostly, that's what happened!  So, we floated, talked and enjoyed the beautiful, but windy afternoon.  It was so windy that you could close your eyes, and actually think you were at the beach!  Far be it for me to invite myself over, but when can I come back Netta?

NO pictures of us.....Just the peaceful river.....And our bottle.  We weren't littering.  Our anchor is attached and we hold on to the attached string, so we don't float away.  (We are professionals.)  On this wonderful breezy day, this came in quite handy!
