Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

When Maddie comes to visit Nana and Pop, our goal is for her to have fun, fun, fun!  And she does.  What she wants she gets.  We started to take her to a Pumpkin Patch for the day, but we decided we'd just stay home and enjoy ourselves.  We are so glad we did!! Our day consisted of a walk, sidewalk chalk, a picnic, painting our toenails, a visit from Grandmother and Papa, swinging, a trip to the park, playing inside and outside, and a blast at the sandpile.  That was something our children always loved to do.  We weren't sure she was ready, but boy was she ever.  She loved it!!

 Giving Pop a high five!!

Sidewalk chalk-I thought I was getting a great deal on the box of 52 that was on sale....I think it might have been a little more than she needed.
 Concentrating.....

This is how she makes us feel!

" Come on Nana, let's see what Pop is doing!"

Checking out a neighbor up the street that was cutting her grass...

He is so wrapped around her little finger.

Beautiful day for a picnic.

Evidently she got tired of sitting in her chair, so she hopped up on the table.  I know, only at Nana's is this allowed.......

Off to the park.  We didn't stay here too long, but had fun nevertheless...

Now for the Real Fun-The Sandpile

Just a little background information-these sandpiles have provided countless hours of fun for our children over the years.  First we started simply playing on them.  Next, they graduated to riding the go cart and four wheeler all over them.  We are so happy Maddie is carrying on this tradition.....Also, I am certain that an Alabama cheerleader outfit was probably not the best outfit for this adventure.  I'm not sure exactly what I was thinking.

At first, she wasn't too sure about all the sand on her toes.

She made it to the top of the pile. (Also, excuse the cheese puffs on our clothes.  We had a little snack on the way.)

"Can you believe I made it all the way up here?"

 She did this several times!!

She actually sprawled out and made a few sand angels.  I am not sure you would believe the amount of sand she had all over her when we finished this.
Here we go again!!

 Precious little footprint!

Pop decided she was ready to tackle a slightly bigger hill.  And she LOVED it!!

This is no dainty little chick we've got here.  This girl is tough!!!

 One more time Pop!

We stripped down, cleaned up the best we could, and headed home.  This has been quite a day.  What should we do tomorrow?
