Wedding Bells

Reed and I recently attended the wedding of one of my first cousin's daughters.  It was such a precious ceremony. Church in the country, family, friends-everything a wedding should be.  I caught myself smiling as they were sweetly exchanging vows.  Isn't that what a wedding should be all about?  It was a beautiful, simple service, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.  I also love any opportunity to visit with my family.  Not everyone was able to attend, but it was great seeing the ones that were there!

Blooming

I love Spring!  Reed and I have both been busy in the yard and garden and so far so good!!  I am a little concerned about how long we can keep everything looking good!  With Spring coming early, I figure I will be watering flowers for about 7 months.  I am still enjoying it now, but by July I think the fun may have worn off!

We have this retaining wall that needed something special, so Reed transplanted these beautiful roses!  He has nurtured them for about 2 years now, and this year they are really pretty!  I only wish they would bloom all summer.

 His garden also looks fantastic!  Before long, we will be eating tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and squash!  He didn't plant quite as much as last year, but I still think we will have more than we can eat!

And not to be outdone, my flowers are growing nicely too!  Below is just a sample!  So far everything but my basil is doing great! The one in the middle is a Pinterest inspiration. (What did I do before I discovered Pinterest?) I have really enjoyed it.  I wanted to add one more larger pot on the bottom, but could not find the right size.  That will be a project for next year!

I have to be honest - with everything in bloom it really makes me hope my summer vacation doesn't take too much longer to arrive!!  When my daylillies start blooming, I really have a hard time going to work!!  That is always my signal that summer is finally here!!

I love my guys!!  I can't imagine life without them!!

Thomas the Train

For the second year, we ventured to Calera to spend the day with Thomas the Train.  This is such a wonderful adventure, especially for a 3 year old!  In addition to riding Thomas, there is a petting zoo, jumper, putt putt, music and games!  Lots and lots of fun!  I love spending time with my family!  Josh was working, so he wasn't able to join us.

I love seeing these two together!  I need to add that Lindsey was quite the trooper on this trip.  She is VERY pregnant, but made it through the day just fine!

Shower Time

Sometimes I am really on top of things and get my blogs out really quickly.  Other times, lots of things seem to happen at once and I get really behind.  This is one of those times.........So now I am playing catch up!

In the not so distant past, I was honored to help host a baby shower for sweet Charli!  Marnetta opened up her beautifully remodeled home, and the fun began!  In just a few short weeks, Jamie and Charli will be welcoming home Baby Jim!  I can't wait for our new little one to join in the fun!  They will be almost the same age.

It's certainly true that time flies when you're having fun!  In one way it seems like just yesterday that Maddie entered the world.   In other ways, I can't really remember life without her.  It is so hard to believe she has turned 3! Lindsey and Josh have worked really hard to make each birthday very special for her.  Since Lindsey is eight months pregnant, she searched for something that would be super fun, but not a lot of work.  She found this wonderful place in Auburn with inside inflatables!!  Maddie (and all the guests) had a wonderful time celebrating!!
