Allison's Blog

(I should have posted this blog a few weeks back.  For some reason, I didn't.  However, Maddie is coming back this weekend, so this is the perfect time to get focused on her return!)

Allison spent an afternoon with Maddie on her last visit here.  She got my camera and took some really cute pictures that I wanted to share.  Thanks so much Allison!

Maddie was playing hide and go seek....I love this picture!

After Maddie went home, I asked Lindsey if Maddie was doing anything that might get NeNe and Pop in trouble.  She said that the main thing was that Maddie wanted to eat all over the house.  I assured her we didn't let her do that.  However, Allison's pictures might support her claim......

NeNe's putting a bandaid on her imaginary "boo boo."  A princess bandaid makes everything better!

Thanks again Allison!

Back in Time

I'm going back a few weeks for this post.  Sometimes things seem to all happen and once, and I get a little behind blogging.  So, a few weeks ago, the youth group(from Good Hope Baptist in Ecclectic) that we helped entertain at the river made another trip to town.  They quietly and efficiently went about town doing many good deeds.  I didn't know it until later, but they actually did quite a bit of cleaning shrubs and planters at my school.  I felt bad that I had spent several hours with them and didn't even know to say thanks!!  So, I'll say it now-thanks so much for your kindness!

We again got to spend some time with them at the river.  They are a supper sweet group.  "Helping" them is such a great excuse for a great time at the river.

Jonathan & Caleb
Both are now Seniors! (Jon-High School and Caleb-College)  Hard to believe!

This is the "Go ahead and take a picture and get it over with" look.

Some of the visiting youth-I think they brought 42 members...

In they go!

Skiing, kneeboarding, swimming, and tubing were just some of the fun things we they did!

This is our neighbor Audrey.....

This is Audrey skiing for the first time....

Not sure who these next two are, but they were all very nice.

We hope you come back soon!

Here Kittie Kitty

Several weeks ago, two teeny tiny kittens showed up at Reed's shop.  We tried for quite some time to tame them with no luck.  They would let us catch them when they ate, but that was it. However, after many cans of food and lots of patience, we now have two new buddies.  And although Brooke doesn't like it, right now their names are Kittie and Kitty.  Makes things really easy when you call them.....Anyway, they were absolutely filthy from living at the shop.  So a couple of days ago, we loaded them up, brought them home, and bathed them.  Should I mention here that cats don't enjoy a bath?  They love Reed and Caleb but the verdict is still out on me.  (I was the one that bathed them....)  Anyway, we are hoping that Maddie gets one.  I would love to keep one, but Gus and Maybelle haven't agreed to this yet.  So, if anyone out there is interested give me a call.  Kittie or Kitty could be yours!

First meet Kittie.....She (not really sure what Kittie is) is a little shy, although that seems to be getting better!

Now meet Kitty.  He is a little more adventerous.  Both enjoy climbing on the furniture, looking out the window, chasing each other, playing and getting into everything!  They have had the full run of the shop, and seem to think it's ok to explore every inch of the house!

Caleb would love to have one in Tuscaloosa, but for some reason he doesn't think they are worth the $200 pet deposit he would have to pay.

Any takers?

Beach - Part 2

The only bad thing about a beach trip is that they have to end.  I was ready to go back as soon as we got home!

Josh, Pop and Maddie dodged the jelly fish and had a ball in the water!

Having fun at the Oyster House!

 Yummy!
 "Hiding" at the Restaurant

NeNe thinks she is the most adorable thing in the world!  These pictures were all taken by Caleb.

Thanks to my sweet family for more great memories!

Beach-Part One

We had a short, but wonderful trip to the beach.  Maddie simply could not have been any better.  Fun was had by all.

First, what do you do while waiting for an early morning storm to pass by?  We make silly faces!
Enjoying a walk run with Pop!
She loved everything about the beach....

Pop was convincing her that the water would be lots of fun!

We found all kinds of  "critters"  including a sea robin and an angry crab.

The tent was a perfect place for lunch!
Maddie and Uncle C spent lots of time playing in the sand.

Josh and Maddie loved getting in the water.

Stay tuned....More beach adventures are to come!

"Miss" Cathy's Kids

For 20 summers now, I have been blessed to spend my afternoons with "Miss" Cathy and her "big" kids.  I have gotten to see a large percentage of Aliceville's children learn to swim.  They arrive at the house around 12:45 each day and for the next two hours, simply have a blast.  Each day is filled with jumping, splashing, going under, sliding, and of course, eating popsicles.  I am always sad when the four year olds start to big school, because that usually means they won't be back the next year. I only took my camera out 2 or 3 times this summer, so I don't have pictures of everyone.....

Maddie was even able to get in on the fun! Sam, a "graduate" of Cathy's even came back to visit one day.

Taylor Grace is usually the only girl.  However, she is more than able to hang with the boys.  I think it would be fair to say that she is the "leader of the pack".

Love Foster's hair!! Rainer loves being "Bucketman"!  I was glad Rainer and Maddie got to spend some time together.  Their mom's spent countless hours swimming together when they were little.

Thanks for the company, "Miss Cathy".  I'm sorry I didn't get to spend as much time with ya'll this summer.

I am back in school now, but I can't wait until next summer!!
